Reef-Spec Light Output For Optimal Coral Growth & Coloration

Over the past few years, Red Sea has dedicated a lot of time to testing and researching LED lighting, and the culmination of those efforts resulted in the ReefLED 50. Designed for optimal growth, while producing great coloration with a pleasant shimmer effect. Red Sea didn't stop with great function and form. They integrated the control of the light into the ReefBeat smart aquarium app and the built-in WiFi lets you directly connect the light to your smart device to set the daily schedule, color, intensity, and other features.

  • Optimal Output For Maximum Color & Growth
  • Perfectly Blended Light with a Slight Shimmer
  • Reef Safe Dual Channel Control with Moonlighting
  • Easy to Control With ReefBeat App

Maximum Spread - 20" X 20"

LED Information:

The ReefLEDs use an ingenious recessed LED cluster that eliminates glare from normal viewing angles. This focuses light into the tank, while the specialized lens provides a homogenous light mixture that blends nicely in your aquarium. The Dual Channel settings let you customize the lighting for your viewing preferences while ensuring the overall spectrum is acceptable to corals and other animals that depend on it for their energy.

Total LED Power - 50 Watts

Reef Spec Blue - 40 Watts

8000K White - 10 Watts

Moon Lights - 3 Watts

Product Questions

Hello! I’m just getting my first reef tank, would this light be ideal for a 25g cube? Thanks I’m advance!
Question by: Tanner Oberlander on Jan 27, 2023, 10:11 PM
Hey There, thanks for the question! This would work for an 18 x18 square tank. you might want to consider something larger if going with higher lighting requiring corals

Would this light be powerful enough for a Waterbox 30.2 tank? Looking to have enough light for fish and beginner corals. Thanks!
Question by: Dan on Sep 5, 2020, 8:51 PM
Hey there,
Thank you for reaching out to us! Yes, this light would be enough for beginner corals in that size tank.

Please let me know if you need anything further and take care!

Hello, I'm looking for led light setup for 180 gallon 6ft mixed reeftank that wont break the bank. I'm running 6 t5 right now. Any help would be appreciated.
Question by: Kyle Huggins on Jan 30, 2020, 11:13 PM
I would not recommend the Red Sea 50 for this size tank. The 50 is geared more toward a nano setup. The max spread is only 20"x20" and realistically recommended for 18"x18". The Red Sea 90 has a better spread with 24"x24". Depending on what type of corals you have I might suggest checking out the Hydra 32s as they have a similar pricepoint as the Red Sea 90 but would be a better fit for your tank size/spread.

Hey there,

For that size tank I would not go with the 50's you will need the 90's. How many would depend on the length of the tank. Likely 4-6.

Take care
