- PE Mysis Flake Saltwater Fish Food - Piscine Energetics
PE Mysis is easily the most popular frozen food, and now they are producing PE Mysis in a flake form that is perfect for saltwater fish of all sizes. Flakes come in big chunks that you can break down to an appropriate size for your particular fish.
Two Sizes Available:
Flake food is known for being very soft and palatable, and now Piscine Energetics produces a nutritionally complete flake food that is designed to help enhance the coloration and vitality of your saltwater fish. Made with fresh PE Mysis as the main ingredient, the flakes are very high in protein and fatty acids with omega 3 and 6. Flake food is ideal for fish that have small mouths or a soft jaw.
It is much better to feed your fish multiple times a day over a single large feeding. PE suggests feeding as much as your fish will consume within 3 minutes up to three times a day. If the flakes are too large for your fish, they can be broken down into smaller pieces that will fit into their mouths.
With flake food, it is best to use a feeding ring to contain the food from floating down an overflow, or holding the food under the water for a few seconds allowing it to rehydrate. Feeding rings work very well because you fish will eventually learn where they can find food after a couple of feedings.

Update, Wow By Mark on 10/2/2018Mark would recommend this product to a friendSo this is an update to my 1 star. Not only has BRS come through, but so has PE. Thier containers are now sealed after not even a month. That is absolutely unbelievable. As far as the food goes, this has quickly become my 3 tangs favorite food. Chromis also love it. Regular mysis don't get this kind of response and the best part, it isn't messy. The flakes are fairly large, but that doesn't intimidate the fish, they suck it right in. Thanks BRS and PE for fixing the issue.
five stars and two thumbs up. By Reeftripper on 9/16/2018Reeftripper would recommend this product to a friendMy fish love this food too. We tried it and it is now my go-to flake food.
Not vacuum sealed By Mark on 9/4/2018Mark wouldn't recommend this product to a friendAfter a week sitting on a flooded railway, mine arrived spilled all over the box. No knowing how much moisture it obsorbed so it's probably a loss. Maybe one star isn't fair, but it was a complete waste of money for me.
My fish love this stuff By John on 5/30/2018John would recommend this product to a friendMy fish absolutely love this stuff. They go crazy chasing after every bit in the water.
The only fish I have who ignores it is my Hawaiian squirrelfish, but he's a different story. All other fish have gone fat because of this food.
I first swirl it in a cup of tank water for a couple of seconds to get them all wet. Otherwise some of them stay on the water surface and get into the overflow.
I have tried MANY flake foods before and did not get such a feeding response like this one. Even the soft corals like it too.
