Aquarium stands are commonly made of wood or some type of steel that weigh a lot, not to mention are not all that friendly with water drips. Innovative Marine's Aluminum Profile Series (APS) Stands set the new standard for aquarium furniture construction by making a stand that could actually outlast your tank. Aluminum has been used commercially for many years and now you can have all the benefits of an aluminum stand with your Innovative Marine aquarium. The aluminum channel is resistant to corrosion and will not warp, swell, or blister like wood and steel stands. Customized profiling within the 100% recycled aluminum channel keeps the stands overall weight very low while having the ability to hold massive amounts of mass.
Assembles in Minutes!
All APS stands come with all the necessary hardware and also includes a T-handle Allen key to help assemble the stand. We have assembled a couple here, and by following the included step by step directions, we had them put together in just a few minutes. The aluminum channel uses a special clamping system that securely holds them against each other, creating a secure and reliable bond.
Every IM APS Cabinet Stand comes with black pre-cut closed cell PVC boards that fit the stands perfectly giving them dimension and style. The stand doors can be removed quickly if you want to install a sump or for general maintenance.

Solid and Attractive By Brian on 5/19/2020Brian would recommend this product to a friendI've had two large (240 and 300 gal) tanks blow out on me over the years. I still have nightmares about both events. Obviously a strong stand is my top priority. This stand is very strong and easy to assemble. The fact that it is aluminum means no fears of water damag us many times stronger than mdf or even wood.. Yes, it could use some engineering improvements like a shelf and better floor but overall it is good looking and most importanly, it lets me sleep at night.
Nice Stand, But A Few Negatives Too By Richard on 12/11/2017Richard would recommend this product to a friendI purchased this stand recently for use with a new IM Fusion 25 Lagoon. The stand came packaged very carefully to prevent shipping damage but there were a few minor scratches on the glass side panels despite that fact. Presumably the scratches were caused in manufacture because they were beneath the plastic sheeting that had been applied to all glass surfaces to prevent scratches in shipping/handling. They were minor enough that I can live with them. The proportions of the stand are very pleasing to the eye when the IM 25 Lagoon is set upon it and allows for a functional amount of room behind the doors. Be aware that this cabinet stand has no wood into which you can screw mounting hardware for controllers, wiring, or anything else that you wish to mount. You could use adhesive backed velcro for that purpose if you want to, but personally I've never had much luck with that stuff supporting power strips and electronic equipment for the long term. It always seems to come 'un-stuck' as it were and I eventually find the equipment laying on the bottom of the cabinet. I built a 'cabinet liner' for this particular purpose out of 3/8" thick plywood so that I could securely mount my APEX components and my power strip up out of the way of a 5 gallon ATO reservoir and all the other wires, cords, transformers, etc that almost every reef aquarium has for support. I would personally prefer a wood cabinet for that reason alone. One more negative is that the doors are made of a combination of dissimilar materials which is very apparent where the parts are joined together. Due to this design feature I think the doors lend a 'cheap' appearance to what otherwise would be a pretty sharp looking cabinet. The stand assembly process is fairly straight forward if you have a modicum of mechanical aptitude; but the instructions leave something to be desired, in my opinion, for someone who doesn't. The stand is sturdy and provides sound support for the tank it was designed to hold. All factors combined, I think this stand could be significantly improved by IM with a few design and material choice modifications.
Lightweight and sturdy, relatively easy to assemble. By Chen on 11/6/2017Chen would recommend this product to a friendGot this for my IM Nuvo 40 tank and here are my thoughts after putting it together, which didn't take long and was doable without help from another person:
1. Lightweight, sturdy.
2. No need to worry too much about water getting on it.
3. Relatively easy to assemble, but with some negatives about the doors.
1. Difficult to get the doors to align perfectly. And once you tighten the screws somewhat, it will be difficult to make fine adjustments, because the screw will tend to want to go into the previous location, if you know what I mean.
2. Relatively large gaps between doors and the frame (if you have a light inside the stand I'm pretty sure there will be some level of light bleeding through).
3. The panels on the side frames are Plexiglas I believe. They are somewhat reflective, not a "matte" look as the picture might suggest. Not a big deal for me but certainly not what I was expecting.
4. There's no shelf inside the stand, which is a shame because it is 36" tall. A shelf will come very handy. I'm not too sure how to add a shelf either, since they are not wood...
