  • Great Vac! By Michael on 3/28/2017

I cleaned my 200, 55, 29 and 40 gallon fish tanks with no issue.
As long as you clean out the sludge often, you won't lose suction power.
Also, if you are expecting to vac out the tank in seconds, it's not going to happen.
If you take your time and clean out often, it's all good.
  • Mesh lets detritus through By Ramon on 10/15/2016

I bought this to suck up the detritus in my sump. It was hard to get a siphon started.
It sucked up the water, but all that junk just went back in the sump.
  • Almost Great By KerryF on 3/5/2016

As others have said, it needs a filter sock added to the mesh area otherwise the really fine stuff passes right back into the tank. I still like this much better than a siphon and it is fully submersible.
  • Deceptively powerful By Angelo on 2/5/2016

Works well, you can actually see it pull up small fine particulate from sand, unfortunately goes right through screen and into water column. Cutting filter sock and getting mouth of vac through bottom, and pulling it over filter picks most of that up. Annoying though. All in all better than using a siphon. Surprisingly powerful
  • A must have for your sump! By 9StickN8 on 12/2/2014

I had a lot of detritus in my sump. Since my sump is on the floor, I was unable to start a siphon with a standard cleaner. This tool uses batteries to do the work, problem solved! I just removed the bottom extension to shorten the height. Within about 1 minute, I filled the collection container halfway up with sump detritus. Awesome!
  • Good Product.... By Scott on 11/19/2014

Have had this for a couple years. Use it frequently, my only complaint is that it will occasionally allow the junk you vacuum up back into the tank through the filter. Only does this for really small particles, or when the impeller chops something up fine enough to make it through.
  • Eheim Quick Vac By Frankie on 4/22/2013

The Eheim Quick Vac is a quality product which does an excellent job of vaccuming the gravel of my 30 and 20 gallon aquariums. It is very convenient and easy to use. Vaccuming while changing water does not work well for me. I find I can clean my gravel in just a few minutes, so I am able to do it more frequently.

Question by: Sandy on Jul 25, 2014 10:21:00 PM
Hi Sandy,

The Quick Vac is fully submersible to 3 Ft so you should be just fine in a 27" deep tank.

Hope this helps! Have a great day :)

The vacuum no longer turns on. I have changed the batteries and taken the unit completely apart and rinsed it. Any suggestions?
Question by: joan perilla on Mar 26, 2016 1:03:00 PM
Great question, If the unit has new batteries and is not clogged most likely related to internal electrical issue or pump related problem. You will want to contact the manufacturer directly to see if there is warranty repair. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
