Never Change A Filter Sock Again!

Max Flow 500 GPH

The Theiling Compact Rollermat can be used in many different scenarios to fit your sumps needs. It can be hung from the side of your sump or with the included base stand securely within your sump. The design allows for water to pass through the fleece which will trap any detritus, debris, or other free-floating particles, and then it can drain down through the base of the Compact Rollermat and into the rest of your aquarium's filtration. Handling up to 500 GPH of flow through the fleece, after particles start to clog up the fleece the float sensor will automatically trigger the motor to turn the rollers and offer new fleece.

  • New compact design
  • Freestanding or hang-on options
  • Fleece can last 3+ months between changes
  • Efficient fleece material can reduce free-floating protozoa
  • Quickly replaceable fleece roll

The fleece roll is 4" wide and comes in 36 foot long rolls. It has a variable depth rating and can last anywhere from one to multiple months and will ultimately depend on your tanks flow, bioload, feeding habits, water changes, etc.

Product Questions

I recently purchased the theiling rollermat compact 1. I have my beananimal overflow entering the rollermat. The water passing through the rollermat makes so much noise. Any suggestions?

Thank you,

Hi there, thank you for the question. You can either tweak the gate valve or turn the return pump down to slow the flow.

Will this work with a Reefer250 v1?
Question by: Tommy on Jun 9, 2022, 5:25 PM
Thanks for the question! This can be used with the Reefer 250 v1, but the sump will need to be modified to remove the filter sock assembly. Please let us know if we can help with anything else!

Hello, I have a Red Sea Reefer 350 and would like to add a fleece roller. I don't have the stock sump. The return chamber on my sump is 7"W x 14"L. Would the Theilen Compact Rollermat fit, or would you suggest a different one?
Question by: David on Mar 22, 2022, 5:20 PM
Hey David, thanks for the question! With the base the roller mat is 12" L x 9" W x 17". This seems slightly large for that chamber!

Hi. I’m setting up my tank after a house move. I’d like to fit one of these but may need to mod my sump so I’m trying to work out a few dimensions so I can do this before its setup;
When hung on the rim of the sump, how deep below the rim does the unit sit & also how high above the rim does the unit project (not including the barb - I will be fitting PVC with a threaded connector) And 4” is the absolute minimum above the top of the unit for maintenance?
Thanks
Question by: James Cornish on Jan 20, 2022, 4:13 AM
Hey James, thank you for reaching out to us! When hanging on the rim, the unit protrudes roughly 5.5" above the rim. The unit also goes resides roughly 6.5" below the rim. Hope this helps!

I have an Red Sea 525xl system. will this theiling system be suffecient or do I need something else.
Question by: Roy Cash on Dec 1, 2021, 12:58 PM
Hello,

Thank you for your question. The Theiling Compact Rollermat can handle a maximum flow rate of 500 gph. If you area running a turn over of 3-5 times your water volume, this rollermat will be sufficient mechanical filtration in your tank. Happy Reef Keeping.

Why does it REQUIRE a pump, if it's hanging on the edge of the sump?
Question by: David Rosen on Nov 30, 2021, 1:11 PM
Hi, Thank you for the question.

It is not required to connect this filter to a pump. You just need to connect the drain line from the display tank to the intake of the Roller Mat. It includes a step barb fitting for 1", 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" flexible tubing. Or even connect PVC using the 1.5 thread of the intake (without the barb fitting). Happy Reef Keeping.

I would like to use it with a pump, but I have a hard time finding a pump with around 500gph that I can connect this large of a connection. Can you recommend a pump that would work with this and that has a small footprint?
Question by: Reto Kramer on Jan 4, 2019, 6:18 PM
Thanks for contacting BRS!
We recommend using a 1.5" threaded to slip union on this roller mat and then you can use a 1.5 spigot reducing bushing and barb to reduce to the size needed to fit the pump of your choice. Have a great day!

What are the base dimensions without the red base attached
Question by: Matt on Jan 4, 2019, 10:02 AM
Thanks for contacting BRS!
The Theiling compact roller mat will be 5.5" x 5" at the base without the red attachment. Have a great day!

What are the widths of the bottom of the roller mat vs the top where the fleece rollers are? I am asking about the minimum width required for it to insert into a sump, excluding the fleece rollers and the maximum requirement to be fully inserted.
Question by: steven on Oct 22, 2018, 1:29 PM
Great question! The dimensions of the bottom when it has its red base attached is 11" x 6", and the top portion with rollers measures at the 12" x 9". The total height is 17", and has 4" added to the top with the barb fitting.

Will it work with a red sea reefer 350?
Question by: Dan Montoya on Sep 13, 2018, 10:26 PM
Hey there!

It would certainly work! You would just have to set it on the side of the sump or set it in the sump and supply it with a pump!
Answer by: Thomas on Sep 14, 2018, 4:05 PM
Can this be used in an AIO like IM nuvo?
Or must it be used only in sump.
Question by: Mike on Sep 13, 2018, 9:57 PM
Unfortunately, you must use a sump.
