If you hook up your RODI system and have low pressure or an issue with the amount of product water you are producing, there is a good chance are a booster pump will solve the issue.  The Booster pump kit will come with everything needed to get it hooked up to your RODI system and increases the pressure feeding the system in a matter of minutes.

Everything you need to install an Aquatec 8800 Booster Pump - all in one kit. It also includes the pressure switch so it will work with reverse osmosis units that are set-up to shut off automatically. ¼” Push Connect fittings.

Note: Aquatec 8800 Booster Pumps do require a minimum of 20 PSI to operate. Not having proper pressure feeding the booster pump will cause poor performance, and void the warranty.

    I moved and now run off well water. PSI was 25-30. Eating DI resin like crazy. Bought this pump and has solved my problems. PSI shot up to 90. Easy installation.

    Even with 60 PSI coming out of the water tap this pump helps with the creation rate and rejection rate.

    Installation was simple and it is quiet.

    Plus it looks whoopie hanging on the wall as part of the entire system. (what can I, say I am a geek who likes toys...lol)

    Installed in 20 minutes thanks to the video and enclosed instructions. It is producing more water than without it, in the same amount of time. After installing the pump the PO4 reading went from .02 to .01. A 50% reduction. My input pressure went from 40psi to 74psi. I have not made any adjustments to the factory settings.

    Installed a RO system for my well water. The water pressure was not enough to make ice in my refrigerator. I install this 8800 booster pump and WOW! No more ice problems. The pump is heavy and alittle noisy but sounds industrial (good quality). Would be good if you could recommend a cheap fix to silence this heavy duty pump.

    Before getting the booster I could make 30 gallons of RO/DI water in 36 hours on my 35-40 psi supply. After the booster I can make 30 gallons in 7 hours. I'm now adding the second RO membrane system to get more water without wasting so much water. I'm in AZ and water is important here!

    Since purchasing my BRS RO/DI system I've been somewhat plagued with low water pressure in the system. Usually I see about 45psig, which is pretty marginal so I purchased the booster pump. It makes a big difference! My psig shot up to 90. The pump is easily adjusted with a small hex wrench and I set mine at 80psig. Water flow is very strong now. I mounted the pump on the wall just below my RO/DI setup. Took maybe 20 minutes to install everything. Well satisfied.

    The pump itself arrived only putting out 60psi, which was practically useless for $150. The pressure switch cut off was only at 40psi as well. Thankfully I figured out how to adjust them, so now the pump puts out 90psi against the RO membrane and the pressure switch cuts out at 70psi on the tank side.

    Working great so far, the power supply and pump itself is quite heavy and feels quality. Only complaint is the vibration is audible across the house, but I'm sure some anti-vibration rubber mounts will help. Also one of the brackets for the pump came broken, so it only has 3 mounting holes on mine, not 4.

So I lost hope.than Aquatec 8800 was popping up all over the web.after reading the reviews, I decide to give it a try..well as you read above this pump does everything you need it to do.     I'm kicking myself for not purchasing this before. In all my years of reefing, this has got to be one of the best additions I have ever made. Was at 45psi before and at 95 now. Water was a trickle before and it's now a nice steady stream. My unit vibrates quite a bit. It's mounted on the wall and is audible in my daughters bedroom up above my garage. Minus one star for the vibration but this thing seriously kicks butt.

    I bought my RO/DI unit and I was only getting 35 psi. Once I bought this booster pump, it is now reading 90 psi. It works so much faster and much better than it use to. The TDS is at 6 now and the best I was getting before was 11. If you are getting less than 50 psi, I would highly recommend this!

    Like others here, my water pressure was down around 40psi. At that pressure, the RO unit is very inefficient and you get mostly waste water. I'm super pleased with this booster pump. I agree with the other reviewers, Even if you have "ok" water pressure, this will boost it to the optimum level for the RO unit. You'll get much more filtered water and much less waste water. It will extend the life of some of your key filter components too. I also want to mention how quiet this pump is. This pump is barely audible. All you can hear is a soft low thrum. It's also low RPM, so it has very little vibration. The vibration it does have is low frequency, and the rubberized mounting pads easily absorb it. I can set this on a table top and it doesn't budge. The power supply consists of a white module, with a fairly long power cord on each side (one running to the pump, the other to your AC outlet). The pump comes with two rubber plugs sticking out of the input/output holes. You really have to pull really hard to get these out. A note to that effect would be good in the instructions. The video doesn't mention this either. In one scene they are there, and in the next they are magically gone.

Hi Paul,
It does not, but the pump installs inline with your existing feed line so in most cases no extra tubing is necessary assuming your system is already plumbed from the water source to the RO/DI unit.

I just order the BRS 6 STAGE 75GPD PLUS RO/DI SYSTEM FROM YOU. My current pressure that I am running is sitting at 60 PSI, so i am wondering if I actually need this. I am currently running a 5 stage but just did the upgrade yesterday TO A 6 STAGE,1 Sediment, two carbons, two di's and a membrane. What are your thoughts?

You should actually be just fine with the pressure you have and there is no need for a booster.

I am installing this pump on an RO Buddie system with a float valve. The current system has a solenoid (with two inputs and two outputs) installed. The water supply runs into the solenoid and then out to the RO pre-filters. Then the RO filtered water outputs to the solenoid and out to the float switch (I could send you a diagram if necessary). Am I correct in thinking that I need to keep the solenoid in the system as well as installing the auto shut-off for the booster pump?

It sounds like your system comes with an auto shut off valve installed on the unit. Probably something like thishttps://www.bulkreefsupply.com/1-4-auto-shut-off-valve.html. If that is the case, you will want to keep this installed on the unit to control the waste flow when not making water.

Can you install this booster pump after your sediment filter and before your carbon? So that no sediment gets into the pump? And not putting It after the carbon because small particles of carbon would get in?

Hey there,
Unfortunately, as the sediment filter beings to clog over time, this can create resistance to flow and may negatively impact the performance of the booster pump. For this reason we don't recommend installing the booster after the prefilters. Hi Rocky,
The pressure will depend on your incoming water parameters but 20psi would be pretty typical. No worries about going too far though, the pump itself has a pressure bypass on top that will allow you to turn it down if its too high.

I have 6 stage water saver plus. I've heard you recommended 65 PSI, I have 60. Should I get a booster pump, the system seems to work just fine as is.

65psi is recommended for optimal performance (production rate and rejection rate), however while pressure is a big factor, other factors can affect how well your system works. If you are getting the performance you want from your unit, you don't necessarily have to get a booster pump, but if you find your system is not performing to your expectations, then this can be a useful avenue to explore.

Great question!
The Quick connect fittings can be removed once installed. This is a matter of holding the mur lock gasket with one hand and pulling and twisting the tubing out like with a finger trap. My 4 stage ro/di recent dropped pressure from around 40 psi to Around 5 psi. I checked all my fitting, my di resin, membrane and other filters are new if not under a few months old. Would a booster help or is there a bigger issue?

Hi there,
With that kind of pressure drop, it is more than likely one of your pre-filters has clogged. You should be able to troubleshoot the issue by removing your sediment filter, and carbon blocks one at a time and then turning the system back on to see if the pressure increases. If you pull one filter and see the pressure increase that is a good indication that it is clogged. On average most sediment filters will last a couple months up to a year depending on your specific water. The other thing you will want to check is your flush valve if you have one, and make sure that it is in the closed position for normal operation. If you are still having issues after those steps, give us a call at 763-432-9691 ext 1 and we can help go through a couple more steps of troubleshooting, but 99% of the time there is a pressure drop like that it is due to a filter or the flush valve is open.

I just bought the 6 stage water saver with tds meter and pressure gage and I hooked it up and the pressure gauge said it was pushing 25psi of water so I bought this booster pump and hooked it all up and the pressure gauge still says 25. My waste water if flowing out with some good pressure before and after hooking up this booster pump. I'm keeping i would say 8% of water. Is this normal?

Hey there,
The pressure you are getting and the issue you are describing sounds like your unit's flow restrictor/flush valve may be in the open position. The white cylinder on the waste (black) line on top will have a small black valve on it which should be closed (perpendicular) for normal operation. If it is open, you will not get proper pressure.

Does it matter what end of the blue line you put in the pressure switch? Is the a directional flow like the booster pump itself. I don't see arrows.

My home runs on a well and purchased a 6 stage ro/di plus. Thinking about getting the booster as my line has a ways to run before getting into the bucket. I believe it's fluctuating between 38psi (at its lowest point) and 55 (at its peak). Is this a good buy? I've only made about 10g and it's already used about 1/4 of a di chambers resin...

With a set up such as yours we would recommend the Booster pump if possible to keep the pressure optimal for the membrane. DI resin will tend to deplete quickly in the first several gallons and slow down after that. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!

Currently only the 1/4" booster pump is available in kit form. We carry the 3/8" pump as a replacement pump for folks that already have a system, though you could buy a power supply and pressure switch to make your own 'kit".
