ATTENTION: Maintain the life of your pump.

99% of all pump failures and broken impellers are caused by foreign objects (snails, sand, gravel, hermit crabs, etc.) entering the pump housing. Pumps damaged by foreign objects are NOT covered under any warranty and are expensive to fix or replace. To prevent damage to your pump, we suggest using a bulkhead strainer on the intake bulkhead to reduce the possibility of a foreign object entering the pump. A variety of strainers from 1/2” to 2” are available at BulkReefSupply.com.

  • Exceeds expectations By Wes on 5/18/2017

I bought this external pump to return water to my 32 gal biocube which sits on my desk in my bedroom.. I bought this pump as a 'budget' item and expected to deal with some noisiness at the very least but the pump exceeds every expectation that I had for it. The pump is entirely inaudible over the hood fans or my PC's fans. The pump does cause some minor vibrations which can be felt through the floor but I don't have it mounted to anything that would dampen these vibrations as they are barely noticeable unless I'm standing right next to the pump.
  • Poor Build Quality By Alex on 12/4/2014

I bought this pump to use on a small (15 gallon) saltwater mixing station. I was very frustrated when I twisted the schedule 80 PVC fitting to the pumps outlet, and snapped the casing.

I called BRS to order the replacement part only to find out that BRS does not support replacement parts for this pump, and that I should call the manufacturer directly.

I contacted Pan-World directly, who then referred me back to the US distributor of their pumps (BRS) to find a replacement part.

I went back to BRS and the rep did a google search online to find someone who could fulfill the order for the replacement part. He found a company who agreed to fulfill the order for the replacement casing for $40. The shipping was $20. The pump cost $99 brand new. I went ahead and ordered it because I figured at this point I had already sunk $100 into it so I may as well learn from the lesson and be extra careful when attaching plumbing to the pump. Well - you can guess what happened next. After over a two-week wait for the company to fulfill and drop ship the order for the replacement part, the new casing came in, and, you guessed it - i snapped it again. This thing is made of some kind of cheap grade chinese plastic from taiwan and snaps at the slightest turn.

Long story short, I watched the BRS video review of the pump and they do clearly mention the "get-what-you-pay-for" build quality element of this pump. The emphasis of this pump is "at-the-price-point' there is no better pump. In my case, after sinking $140 into it, i still have a broken pump that is worthless.

Learning from my mistake, I ordered the more expensive Japanese made pump, which is what I should have done in the first place. I'm sure the pump would have been fine, once it was connected, but after two failed attempts to connect the plumbing, I'm moving on from Pan-World pumps.
  • Excellent service and quality By Jason on 11/23/2014

I ordered this for a small saltwater mixing station. Was processed and shipped fast and works very well for and external pump.
  • Great little pump By Brent on 8/16/2014

I am using this for a saltwater mixing tank I picked up from Den Hertog. It's a little noisy but in a closet so I cannot hear it while it's mixing away. I echo other comments about heat as it does get quite warm to the touch. However, I have not seen this heat transferring to my 20 gallon mixing tank yet.
  • Awesome pump By David on 6/1/2014

Using two of these for my saltwater mixing station they work perfectly will not use anything else. They are extremely quiet.
  • Excellent little pump By chris on 1/15/2014

I have this pump on my saltwater mixing station and its job is to move water between my two brute trash can system for mixing and storing water for my tanks as well as pump either type of water about 15' to my tank for water changes. This pump is very quiet and for such a small pump is perfect for this application.
  • Great pump for the price By Charles on 6/4/2011

This is a great pump, i use it to circulate my 125 gallon rodi water holding tank when im making my saltwater, it does a excellent job for such a small tank.
  • Great little pump, little hot, but silent. By Patrick on 8/3/2010

I've currently got one of these as the return on my display, it's a great little pump and silent. Unfortunately the only side effect of it being a fanless, and silent pump, is that it gets a little hot to the touch. Not burn your hand, but rather maybe a bit hot to hold for extended periods.
