One of the biggest challenges is the mounting solution for lights today. Cobalt has two options for mounting available; hanging or tank mounted. The hanging kit mounts to two points on the top of the light, letting you hang the fixture from a ceiling or wall mounting brackets. The other option is the tank mounting bracket system (sold separately) that gives you a lot of different configurations for the final placement of the light, allowing you to perfectly center the C-Ray 200 over your aquarium.
Cobalt only uses top of the line LEDs that produce excellent color and PAR. With two dense packed LED clusters that provide a high light output that does not produce any disco-ball effects or color separation. Each cluster has a halo ring of blue LEDs that can be used as an accent light or programmed into a full cycle moon-light. In the center of the C-Ray 200 is a warm white fill light that will aid in the overall spread, while also making the color output full spectrum.

Awesome light! By Mick on 8/20/2018Mick would recommend this product to a friendIt was super easy to set up, and the corals look great under this light. Love all the little extra features.
Great Light By Joshua on 4/24/2018Joshua would recommend this product to a friendIt's hard not to compare this light to the Kessil, and at first glance, you might be convinced that it's simply a A700 clone. However, the Cobalt really outshines (ha!) the Kessil light, hands down.
First off, the app. The Cobalt App is lacking somewhat in functionality because none of these aquarium companies can get it together, but it is steps beyond what Kessil offers. Its easier to get access to the light, easier to programme it, and fairly user friendly. It needs some refinement, and it's a pain in the butterflyfish to find in the app store, but ...
The body of the light is solid, and doesn't have the issue of the overly sensitive buttons that Kessil does. The Kessil lights, you can adjust them by blowing on them hard. I'm not kidding. Brushing them while doing maintenance screws them up. Cobalts buttons are solid. The inclusion of the little fill light in the middle avoids the optic bald spot that the kessils kind of give.
I swapped back and forth between an A700 and the CRay, and I will tell you, on my 36" Cube tank, the CRay gives better spread and better penetration. Lights and coral were better lit at the bottom with the CRay. The edges of the tank were better lit, and overall the tank appeared brighter. I have to nick a PAR meter this week and make some comparative measurements, but I get the feeling I know who's going to win this one.
I like Kessils, but... the choice between the two models is easy for me. I'll be purchasing a few more cobalts.
Great first impression By Will on 3/24/2018Will would recommend this product to a friendSince these have recently hit the market and there are not many reviews I decided to share first impression.. Build Quality is excellent. Feels like a very high end light you would expect at this pricepoint. Feels very similar to kessill. The fill light is a great idea. I don't have cones of light in my 70G 36x18 tank from the high intensity cree pucs. Haven't had them long enough to see how the corals take to them but so far so good.
