Filter socks come in mesh or felt and with a plastic ring or draw string. See below for differences and unique advantages.
- Mesh: Thin, doesn't clog as easily as felt
- Felt: Thicker, better at removing particles, but can clog faster
- Plastic Ring: attaches via ring that fits common sump holders
- Draw String: attaches directly to plumbing
- BRS recommends starting with felt socks and switching to mesh if they clog faster than desired.
Filter sock benefits:

Love these socks By Landon on 7/11/2017Landon would recommend this product to a friendThese are better quality socks than I have gotten from other vendors. The outside of the felt has a nice texture and does not fray like others, they last longer in my sump which I like, and they have held-up well after many wash cycles in my washing machine with bleach and soap. Afterwards, I thoughroughly rinse them multiple times and then soak them in RODI before drying them for re-use. I am very happy with my purchase.
