Excellent Choice By 1leftygolfer on 10/22/11
1leftygolfer would recommend this product to a friendI replaced a couple of 14K "U" branded bulbs which I had been using for the past 8 months. Switched over several weeks ago. Several differences: 1. Of course, a much bluer tint which makes the colors pop. We prefer the color rendering. 2. Bulbs are longer than the previous brand, which for our hood/reflector doesn't really matter, but if you have confine spacing, might want to verify. 3. Surprisingly, these bulbs run cooler than the "U" brand. I haven't actually measured the temp differences, but when cleaning my tank I noticed the significant lower temp emitting from the bulbs. So, far I can't complain, but ultimately coral growth will be the determining factor of success.
