How Being an Aquarist Led to a Life of Diving, Exploration & Science by Dr Richard Pyle | MACNA 2016
Dr. Richard Pyle is a pioneer in deep reef diving. He helped coin the term Twilight Zone, which refers to a deep part of tropical reefs that was seldom explored prior to his advancements. Dr. Pyle was among the first to use rebreather technology, and was part of some of the largest rare fish discoveries today. The Peppermint Angelfish, Narcosis Angelfish, Dr. Suess Soapfish, and many more are a few of the discoveries he has been a part of.
In addition to his work with some of the rarest fish in the aquarium hobby, Dr. Richard Pyle has played a large role in the development of rebreather and deep diving technology and equipment. His thousands of hours of deep diving experience has been integral in the development of the Cis-Lunar MK-5P, Poseidon MK6, and Poseidon SE7EN rebreathers
