Andrew would recommend this product to a friendAt first when I opened the box I thought the tests looked complex. The Red Sea tests are so easy the instructions are limited to a small card with only pictures on it. Accurate and affordable. -

Jarrod0987 would recommend this product to a friendI purchased this Mg Test kit as my old one ran out. It's Fantastic. It's more precise then other tests I have used. + or - 20ppm instead of 50ppm. It also has a tip for the syringe with such a tiny hole it is very easy to get a single drop at a light touch. Also, you can buy chemical replacement kits for this test which lowers the cost after you run out the first time. I doubt I will change to any other test any time soon.

Chris would recommend this product to a friendI had the older version of this test and got this one mostly because it was less expensive for more tests and I am looking for a ballpark estimate rather than perfect exact results.
I was pleasantly surprised to see how well thought out this test is. Everything is much improved over their past versions. From the plastic case, bigger card, and vial/syringe holder for titration....this is a great way to get some accurrate results.
On a side note, it seems test kits really do expire. I was showing low Mg on my old test kit , about 1150. On this one I show 1500....oops. :) -

Joe would recommend this product to a friendI have just acquired this Mg test kit as my Salifert ran out of tests. I thought I'd try the Red Sea kit. It works very similar to Salifert, but when adding reagent A you must swirl for 15 seconds after each drop - a minor irritation. Reagent B goes in 5 drops one after another. The titrator that comes with the kit is very handy, and allows you to swirl as you add each drop, using one hand. The kit comes in a very nice plastic case that holds everything neatly. I highly recommend this product to any reef-keeper. I don't think you'll be disappointed. -

Jason would recommend this product to a friendTook advantage of their July 4th Sale have now used it three times. Just love the one handed operation, if anyone has used the Salifert and found it difficult to swirl the test water while pushing the dropper. The Red sea one handed "holder" makes testing so much easier. Just as Accurate as my Mg Elos kit. Even comes with a nice case. Only hiccup is the results, for a while I was measuring it wrong. You look at how much is missing from the syringe not how much is remaining in the syringe. Directions are not real clear on that for a while I was dosing MAg thinking I was too low. Lucky nothing died on me. The video demonstration is great, follow it.

A successful coral reef aquarium depends on how well you maintain the water parameters which are the key to a stable coral environment. All of the elements found in natural seawater play a role in providing optimal water parameters, but some are more significant than others. These elements, the foundation of the reef environment, include the three major elements: Calcium (Ca), Magnesium (Mg) and Carbonates (CO3). All three have a major effect on water chemistry (pH stability, Alkalinity, ionic strength) and on many of the coral’s biological processes (skeleton formation, ions exchange, photosynthesis).
The foundation elements complement each other in the formation of coral skeleton. If not balanced correctly one of the elements will quickly limit healthy coral growth. Using Red Sea test kits will allow you to accurately measure these levels and guide you on your path to reefing success.
