Okay, two things: this is great in the sense that it is nearly complete! No more running to the hardware for this part or that. And, it turns your RO/DI unit into a great multi-tasking unit -- RO/DI water for your reef, and RO water for drinking. FOR ME, though, getting this unit made me easily justify getting the whole RO/DI unit in the first place -- "honey, we don't have to buy distilled water for the baby anymore! I bought this when I purchased my 6 stage system, and I am so glad I did. I thought this would be hard to install, but it was very easy. I am no plumber and if I can do it you can do it. I use the RO water for drinking, cooking, and my pets water. Everything seems to taste a little better. Must Have!!! (Posted on 1/10/12)

As others have said it's really great to rationalise the purchase of an RO/DI system, especially if it's going to offset the purchase of expensive bottled water!

Bought this as an add on to the chloramine plus system and couldn't be happier. The system comes with extra fittings that make isolating the RO water easy. The only modification I made was to tap the the supply water for the DI off the supply tank,. (Posted on 12/20/11)

BRS didn't have a drinking water package with the chlorimine RO/DI system so had to get this add on drinking water kit separately. All parts included for install except doesn't come with final polishing filter that comes with the regular RO/DI plus drinking water package. Mine came with the non-airgap faucet. Can push teh handle down for instant on off flow or pull the handle up to lock in on position for filling large containers or soup pot. (Posted on 11/29/11)

We used this item to allow our RO system to be filtered though and put into our ice maker system on our fridge. best thing we bought for our house. My girlfriend didn't mind me getting a RO/DI unit because of this item here. Just hook it up between the RO and DI Systems. you do not want DI water going to your drinking water. I recently purchased this RO Drinking water system from BRS. The system as a whole is very nice. It's easy to install, maintain and use. I like the clean taste and the use for my aquarium is a plus.

My only gripe is with the faucet. This is an "AIR-GAP" faucet. This faucet has a tiny hole in front of it that functions much like a siphon break in case of backflow and prevents drain (or clogged sink) water from backflowing into the RO system. Good idea in general, but it is VERY NOISY. I recommend if you do not require this for your building codes that you bypass the the drain connections on the faucet. This required me to buy the 1/4" saddle drain and check valve here at BRS. The stock drain valve is 3/8" for the faucet's large drain tube. The check valve provides the protection the air gap is trying to accomplish without all the noise.

Great for drinking water. However, my previous drinking water tap was with an air gap and slightly faster. Nevertheless, good kit and easy to install. (Posted on 6/11/11)

The only thing I would recommend is that BRS should mention that you will need a Auto Shut Off Valve if you don't already have one, as waste water will constantly flow otherwise. (Posted on 5/13/11)

i have my ro/di unit in my basement, but i wanted the drinking water too. it's so simple to set up. you can leave the pressure can in the basement and just send up the one line to your sink. much better than the water from the fridge. (well with kids it is) if you spill it it goes in the sink. (Posted on 8/25/10)
