This is a very strong filter sock holder. Doesn't sag with weight, and I am very happy with it. I had to hack saw to make fit in my sump. But even with 1 in taken off each side of the holder, didn't weaken this at all...

BRS could have sold the 7" and 4" separately for those that only need one size while cutting down cost. I bet the majority of hobbyists only require the 4". I have no use for the 7" holder and might just throw it into the trash. Also, the length of the bracket that goes onto the rim of your sump could have been made shorter. I hacksawed it down to the proper length needed. It would be even better if it came with a filter sock. After the modification it is working well and the ABS plastic is pretty beefy so does not bend at all.

Great Product and does exactly what it's intended for. Some are saying it's flimsy but it holds the sock on perfectly. Not sure if they are needing it to hold their skimmer too but it really does work as advertised. Bags from BRS are usually cheaper than the LFS too.

I have been building my own holders from egg crate sheets and they work great but the weight of the socks brakes the egg crate over time . These are just what I needed and much more sturdy .

I would recommend this to others. It works as described. Great to add a filter sock to a sump that otherwise wouldn't be able to have one. And having 4" and 7" options is a nice addition (though I'll never use the 7", it's too big for me). My only gripe is the cost. The couple pieces of plastic in the bag that make up this item must cost a couple of dollars at most to make. I think a better price would be $10-$15, not $25. But I am still happy I made the purchase. BRS saves me more than that amount everytime I order from them on other items, so why not give them back a little more here. :)

It seemed a bit flimsy at first, but it holds the sock well. Don't really have much use for the smaller socket, but I guess it can be a good backup just in case I downgrade my tank.

I looked online at youtube for all the DIY holders but decided to just bit the bullet and pick this one up, so far I cant say anything bad about it, its pretty sturdy, I need another filter sock but this things is still holding up my dirty one until I can pick up a few more.

I don't understand how others view the extra parts of this kit a bad thing. I love that it came with both small and large sock adapter piece so I can choose which one I want to run and its very easy to switch between the two if I wanted to. This sock holder is very nice, solid and works great in my 120's sump that was a wet/dry. At half the price of my LFS similar kit, I was very happy with the quality and extra parts that came with this kit. I would recommend this to anyone looking to filter with socks in their sump.

well build but consider the base too big when using the 4" sock, specially for smaller sumps, short base will do the job
I understand that this product should come in 1 different sizes and prices, that way we will pay for what we really want and will not missed the larger sized mount or viceversa

This is a really nice product. It's made out of sturdy material and does exactly what it's supposed to do. The only complaint I have is that the inserts on the 4 in. bracket were a 1/16" too big to fit into the slots on the mount, so I had to shave off a little of the plastic to get it to fit.

Other than that small issues, great product!

It functions like it should, but I was dissapointed with the quality for the price. It is made of cheap plastic, I feel like its gonna break everytime I change the socks. Like other's have said, the 4'' and 7'' mount should be sold seperately, I am paying for both and will never use the 7''. First time I have ever been disappointed with BRS
