I have many razor knives so I almost didn't buy this cutter. I'm glad I did. It is a time saver and makes exact cuts. It will not crimp or crush tubing. Much easier to use than a razor knive.

Such a simple but effective tool that I threw into my shopping cart when I purchased my RO DI unit. It's superb straight clean cut will surely be a great asset to add to your arsenal of aquarium tools. I cut my RO tubing like a hot knife through butter. I made straight clean cuts to ensure my installation of my RO DI unit was done right ! Just Keep your fingers out of the cutting area, or you might need a stitch or two..I highly recommend one...

If you are planning on purchasing and installing your own RO/DI system, this is a low-cost, must have tool for your installation, period. Trust me...you'll get a clean, straight cut every time which is important when using MUR-LOK quick connect fittings (no leaks). Sure you can use a razor blade but this is much safer, faster and more accurate. (Highly Recommended)

I’m always tinkering, adding to, upgrading my RO/DI system and/or giving a helping hand to a few friends installed their filtration systems. This tool makes things so much better especially when you want things to be perfect. The cuts are super clean and you will never have a leak on your system because of a bad cut on the line. Spend the extra few dollars and forget about using box cutters and cutting yourself.

I bought this thing because I thought I 'needed' it. It definitely does what it says, and easily cuts tubing squarely. If you are careful with a sharp utility or pocket knife and slice with the blade (instead of crushing with a dull knife or scissors), you could get by without this.

If you are careless or have no sharp implements in the house, just buy this and you'll like it.

I have built several reef systems for friends over the last few years and consider the little tools like this to be invaluable. As more gadgets become available for our water purification needs the complexity of the RO/DI plumbing becomes a daunting task. I primarily bought this because the box cutters in my house are of questionable cleanliness, and I didn't want to chance any waterline contamination.

While a 99 cent box cutter may be cheaper, this thing makes clean and easy cuts. Just don't get your finger in the way. :) Probably a bit pricey for what it is, but definitely a big help when you're tearing apart your RO system!

I am always tinkering and adding on to or changing my RO/DI system and filters. I have found these tubing cutters give you the cleanest and squarest cut on your tubing ends for easy, leak free insertion into your quick connect fittings. If you have been cutting your tubing with scissors you know how you can flatten the tubing and have to "unflatten" it. For the best and longest lasting connection, especially if you are doing any work not in your own home, then these are a must. $5 is a little to pay to help prevent any water leaks.

I would highly recomend purchasing this cutter is you plan on installing a RO system. It cuts tube without crushing it. Crushed tubing can lead to leaks and increased backpressure which results in production loss.
