This is a great value in a refractometer. Kudos to BRS for including a whole bottle of calibration fluid, rather than just a one-time-use packet (or nothing at all).

It's easy enough to use and it feels solid, with good build quality.

A must have instrument for any reefer.
This refractometer has a solid professional feel. Full metal body construction. The eye piece can be adjusted to accommodate your eye sight. I gave the Performance 4 stars due to the fact the prism requires a bright light source. During the day any window would be fine but in the evenings you'll probably need a flashlight to shine on the prism.

I've always used the cheap hydrometers in the past, but I've been very happy with this refractometer. It feels like a quality piece of equipment. Just remember to calibrate it to the value BRS advises you on the sticker and not what is in the user manual. Look on the bottom of the case for the sticker.

Ive been using this tool for about a year and love it. It seems to be very accurate and when the calibration fluid os gone I use water directly from my R/O. Great product!

This unit is inexpensive and easy to calibrate. It was far more accurate than my htdrometer, and I was able to correct a salinity that was too high before it became a real issue

I have been into reef tanks for about 10 years using a hydrometer. I knew these weren't very accurate but very easy to use. Over the last year I started adding a lot of SPS to my tank and had to make sure the water chemistry was as stable as possible. I decided to purchase this refractometer and found it even easier to use than the hydrometer and a lot more accurate! Calibration is simple with the calibration fluid that comes with the unit.

I purchased this refractometer 2 weeks ago, it also came with free calibrating solution. It has worked great so far I calibrated it which is simple and it works great. My LFS had this same product for $90 and I got it for $40, what a great deal BRS is the best.

After seeing many videos and reviews about using a refractometer I decided to purchase this one from BRS. I was questioning the inexpensive price compared to competitor online stores. Upon receipt, the instructions were very good and the quality of the unit was amazing for the price.
I was able to use the meter within minutes. The unit is very accurate. I use it on both my systems. BRS has offered a great product for a great price. I recommend this for everyone that used a Hydrometer to check salinity.

Dollar for dollar you can not beat the price for the accuracy this device provides.
The Refractometer comes complete with instructions so there is no guessing on how to use or calibrate the device. Its adjustable focus is perfect for vision adjustment even if you wear glasses. Providing free Calibration fluid is a great idea having a known value of 1026 is the way to go for the set point.

Just picked this up and it's great. Easy to use and calibrate. Replaced my old Hydrometer and showed i was at 1.024 not the 1.023 my hydrometer was saying. Sometimes the hydrometer took 3 readings to get a good reading. This gave me the same reading each time. That may not sound like much but can make a difference in the long run. Plus free calibrating fluid!
