Any pH probe must be within +/- 20mV at a pH of 7 (0.0 mV) in a calibrated solution. I found mine at 255 mV! After I standardized with mettler toledo solutions my readings where right but the slope was so bad it was off by ~ .7 pH. The probes we throw away in the labs I work in are in better shape, I'm just going to use that.

This Ph probe is just as good as the others. I just wish it would be able to sit out of water longer with out breaking. I have had a few of them but every time I take it out to clean it it breaks. Its partially my fault for not keeping it wet. I start out cleaning it thinking ok I have enough time to clean the power head too. by the time I get done with the power head the probe is dried out which is a no no for PH probes.

I have bought a couple of these. The first one which I have been using for a few years in my sump still reads in a relatively normal range with my pinpoint meter. On the other hand the one I purchased for our calcium reactor reads a full 2 points lower than actual. That being said it is priced right.

I have heard that the Pinpoint PH probe also does not work with the Neptune Apex controller. I bought a BRS probe and calibrated it and it did not work. BRS was nice enough to send me another and I had the same problem. The next day I bought a Neptune PH probe for the Apex and it worked liked it should. This may be an alternative solution to some controllers but it would not work with my Apex. BRS did try and help me and I will conitue to buy from them.

The BRS PH probe costs about ½ the cost of the AM pH probe, and it works great. Holds calibration and no issues so far.

I use these probes with my apex aqua controller for both general ph and calcium reactor use. I've found that these probes are every bit as good as the others. Note that these don't come with suction cups to hold them to the side of your sump. But for the price, I won't miss it :)

lost calibration after about 3 months. That's not enough even at $30. I get about 18 months out of a pinpoint and they're only $15 more. I'd have to buy 6 BRS probes in that time!

Bought this to replace one on my Pinpoint monitor. Calibrated easily and works well. I just wish that it were a different color than the BRS ORP probe.

Great price, but I am not sure how accurate this probe is. Compared to another lab grade probe i have been using and trust (which reads 8.3), this probe reads 8.0... This is after calibrating both probes.

I think I got a lemon. I have tested this probe in just a cup of saltwater and the readings are off the charts, from 7.5 to 9.9 to 8.3 all within a couple minutes. Not too happy.

Because of the age on our existing probe, we decided to try a new one from BRS. It worked fine for about 3 months (and gave very similar readings compared to the old probe that was still set up beside it)... then the BRS started to drift, and would calibrate but would drift too far to be useful after a few days, over and over. Not sure what's wrong with it. Surprised that a probe wouldn't hold calibration after a few months, when our old probe is still working fine and reads calibration solution true after 2 years.

I bought this probe as a back up for my ca reactor.The only problem I had with it is the diameter is smaller than original(pinpoint).Had to obtain an adapter to accommodate both sizes.
Other than that- good value.

You will not find a better pH probe for this price. I use these on my apex and they last just as long as the more expensive ones from neptune systems.

when i receved my pH probe i noticed that the storage soloution had leaked out and my probe was basicly dry.i dont have my pH meter to check if it works yet. however i contacted BRS to let them know about the problem and they have been More then helpful in this situation. there customer service it 5 star

I got this as my back up. It works great, only off a little and that could be the other controller. I plan to verify with a more accurate test kit, used a red sea that is pretty old.

I got this PH probe to use with my digital controller and it works perfectly. Was able to calibrate it in about 10 minutes and ever since has been perfectly accurate. I also verified the readings using a manual test and they matched up. It is very interesting and useful to monitor my daily PH swings.
