This little pump is pretty cool. You can use it as a submerged pump, a power head, an external pump and you can even mod it. The only problem i have with it is that it hums. Its a tad too loud... Still a great little pump.

I really like this multipurpose pump. I'm using it to run my BRS dual GFO/Carbon reactor and it's quite noisy. I haven't been able to troubleshoot the issue yet. It's easily the loudest part of my system. All things considered, still a good utility pump/powerhead

I have 4 or 5 of these and one is installed in a 50 gallon salt mixing drum. Surprisingly, just one of these mixes my salt up vigorously. They now have a powerhead adapter which spreads the flow out even more. Haven't had one fail yet - only had one where I had to clean out some gunk that got into the impeller, then it was good to go again.

IMO I think the only way this product can improve is if it made less sound(vibrating, noise during setup with Deluxe GFO reactor and Deluxe Carbon Reactor) In my case I purchased 2 on different orders and they sound the same. I accept that this very affordable and great performance and easy hook up product is well worth a lil noise. The product I recieved was neatly package and secured, I dont believe both are defective and so they have been running in my reactors and my tank system has not looked clearer and healthier. Thansk BRS.

I bought this for the Reef Octopus reactor, but was curious about the mod kit. So I used another old pump for the reactor, set this up for the water movement in the display and I could not believe the sandstorm this kicked up in the aquarium, if only I could turn it down like a a Vortech, but for the money, I have much better flow.

i got this for my brs deluxe reactor. hooks up really easily, but it is the loudest thing in my tank/sump. contacted brs about a replacement as most evryone else says they are quite. seems the impeller is jumping around making the noise.

Ok first of all pump is great out of the box does everything it needs to and does a very good job on the brs dual reactor actually have to turn it down to 1/4 open so more than enough power. The only complaint I have is the noise this thing is loud even using the suction cups so I will definitely have to make some type of mod for that situation I honestly don't know if it is a mix of the loud vibration going through the plastic tube and pump or just the pump itself. But noise level or not this pump is awesome and can be used for loads of stuff. So yes would buy again even with noise

I bought this for my BRS GFO Reactor and this thing is great. I have a ball vavle on it and its throttle back about half way but it doing a great job and is silent. I have three of this mj1200 running in my 28g Nano Cube and I have barely any noise.

I love the MJ 1200 (for GFO) and MJ 900 (for carbon) in BRS reactors. They are silent in my sump, unlike previous power heads purchased elsewhere. I like that no misc. parts were required for install and no random trips to home depot were needed to locate odd fitting for install. Worked perfectly out of the box. Thank you BRS

I like maxi-jet. Never had a problem with them, but they are louder than say Koralia. However, they are more versatile than Koralia. This one is good. I use it to mix my water. I have a 900 running my reactor. Recommend highly.

I have two Maxijet 1200's on my BioCube. One was a replacement for the BioCube return pump, and one runs my BioCube's deluxe BRS reactor. This thing is a nonstop train, very powerful. It has never let me down, has been my return pump on the Cube since May of 2009. Nice and easy maintenance, very easy to clean. As far as the reactor is concerned, It's perfect, I installed a gate valve on the inlet side of reactor, pump takes it like a champion, keeps the granular GFO tumbling just right, showing zero on phosphates via a salifert test kit, love it!

These things are great little powerheads. I mainly use them for running BRS reactors. You just simply plug them in and attach them to the reactor and away you go.

I have 3 of these little guys. They pump a decent amount stock, but throw an eco-mod or sure-flow on one and they're nuts. More than enough flow for my 100gal. The one I use eco-modded has been running for about 2 years with no problems.

The maxi-jet 1200 is a great little pump. They are inexpensive, durable with simple maintenance, and very flexible. They can be used to circulate new saltwater for water changes, are easily connected to 1/2" tubing and used to transfer water between tanks or containers, power BRS reactors and various filters, or just to provide extra water motion and flow. I have at least 6 of these things in use right now in each of the applications I listed above.
