Most versatile pump ever made By Andrew on 3/29/12

If you are a serious about the hobby you should have 3-4 of these pumps on hand. They can be used for almost anything. I use two for water movement on a frag tank. One for water top off. One for mixing salt. One for water changes. I love these and they last forever. No other company can touch the versatility and price.

I have had this pump for a good bit now and its still going strong. Its been used to power my brs duel reactors, water changes, mixing salt and more. Works great and has nice power for the price but i find it to be a bit noisy. Other then that i would still recomend it any day
Good Value By Robert on 3/18/12

Good little pump to have on hand. The price is right and aside from the vibrations in the sump its a good all around pump. (Quieted mine down w/ some bar mat)

Works well when hooked up to the GFO/Carbon Reactor which is what I purchased it for. Wasn't as happy with it as a power-head. Will definitely recommend for anyone looking for a Reactor pump.
Make water changes easy By Thomas on 3/13/12

I bought this pump for water changes. I use the impeller to pump water out of my sump so that I do not need to change water out of my display tank. I real nice surprise was that changing to the impeller to propeller is trivial so it can preform a double duty of mixing water as well. Value wise impossible to beat.

The manufacturer is replacing my pumps, but I still do not recommend using them with the brs gfo if you are concerned with noise issue. You should be able to come off your main pump and adapt it to accept your gfo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_-xch8SC_M

circulation pump By Raymond on 2/29/12

I use this as a circulation pump in my nano tank and it has worked good for about a year. I have the tank in my bedroom and only hear a very slight hum from it.
Very Loud Start Up By Evan on 2/20/12

While this pump produces a very large amount of circulation, I found its loud start up and running noise to be too much for me when using a wavemaker.
Meh By Michael on 2/12/12

I have two 1200s in my new 75 gal. tank. I was pleasantly surprised by how much flow they provide. Getting a nice wave-like effect at top of tank. BUT, they really rattle when they restart, which does not bode well. They require a sure-grip magnetic attachment (sold separately) to mount them. (Even with silicone, I would not trust suction cup mount). And after two weeks the ball pivot used to direct flow is slipping.

I have several of these... 1 for my BRS reactor one for mixing saltwater and I use 1 for a return pump to a little frag tank. They work great... although sometimes they do make some noise.
Bad Vibrations By Stephen on 1/25/12

I purchased this to power my BRS reactor. Wish I would have waited until BRS had the Cobalt power head in stock, this thing has an annoying vibration.

Great power and Great price.
Quite with the Hi Flow fan style kit. Loud when used in pump mode with the slightest restriction in the line at all. Cobalt Aquatics is the same think except is quiter by far. I recomend that if you want to use it to power a reactor, Filter, or Skimmer.

I have a few Of these. This pump/power head is ok. Great for mixing and changing water. Very noisy when using in tank. Not good for using with reactor.
Great value, but too loud By Robert on 11/23/11

It was too loud in the back of my nano. Vibration againsed the wall and I couldn't fit the suction cup stand. Great power, for price.

I use this with my brf reactor. I can bee noisy when using the valve that comes with it to restrict the flow. If you have a solution, please let me know what it is.

Garbage! By Fish Girl on 9/25/11
Fish Girl wouldn't recommend this product to a friend
Absurdly noisy and incapable of moving water through a mere 2' of tubing at a rate adequate to even make Bio-Pellets tremble, much less tumble. Build a manifold off your main pump for about what this piece of junk costs and save yourself the aggravation.
Great with GFO/Carbon Reactor By Greg on 9/23/11
Greg would recommend this product to a friend
These maxijets are perfect for use with GFO in a reactor. I turn the valve off a little bit to restrict some of the flow, but can open the valve all the way for a few secs to stir it up if needed. I also use one to blast the live rock occasionally.
