Great power and Great price.
Quite with the Hi Flow fan style kit. Loud when used in pump mode with the slightest restriction in the line at all. Cobalt Aquatics is the same think except is quiter by far. I recomend that if you want to use it to power a reactor, Filter, or Skimmer.

I have a few Of these. This pump/power head is ok. Great for mixing and changing water. Very noisy when using in tank. Not good for using with reactor.

It was too loud in the back of my nano. Vibration againsed the wall and I couldn't fit the suction cup stand. Great power, for price.

Garbage! By Fish Girl on 9/25/11
Fish Girl wouldn't recommend this product to a friend
Absurdly noisy and incapable of moving water through a mere 2' of tubing at a rate adequate to even make Bio-Pellets tremble, much less tumble. Build a manifold off your main pump for about what this piece of junk costs and save yourself the aggravation.

Great with GFO/Carbon Reactor By Greg on 9/23/11
Greg would recommend this product to a friend
These maxijets are perfect for use with GFO in a reactor. I turn the valve off a little bit to restrict some of the flow, but can open the valve all the way for a few secs to stir it up if needed. I also use one to blast the live rock occasionally.

Not for use with BRS GFO Reactor By Grey on 8/24/11
Grey wouldn't recommend this product to a friend
Okay so I bought a BRS GFO reactor. Set everything up and hooked up the BRS "recommended" Maxi-Jet 1200 to power the water. Upon first power up the MJ 1200 started clicking and buzzing VERY loud. I thought no biggie, it's probably just air flushing out.. So I turn up the ball valve (100%) to the reactor to flush all the fines and the noise stopped... but as soon as I turned the flow back down to get the GFO tumbling correctly it starts right back up again. I finally figured out that the pump itself it not designed to run at such a restricted rate. The slow flow rate that a GFO reactor requires is much to low for the impeller to self balance. Since the impeller can't balance it wobbles and hits the volute causing a nerve racking irritating sound.. much like an alarm clock. I do NOT recommend this pump for the BRS GFO reactor or any other for that matter.
