This was the first reef monitor I have ever used in any of my aquariums and I have been very happy with it so far. It has saved my aquarium from a kalk overdose as well as a heater failure. This may not be the best controller out there, but it certainly is the best bang for your buck.

Received this product and right out of the box the PH probe doesn't work. Warranty is provided by Digital Aquatics. Let me tell you this is the hardest place to ever get response out of. To call them is just impossible. Its been two weeks now and I still don't have a product that works nor do I think will ever work unless I purchase a Ph probe myself which will add to the already hefty price of the system. Hope no one ever has to deal with them.

At first, it is a Love / Hate relationship.
Once you understand how it thinks and what it is asking it is a BREEZE... WELL WORTH the learning curve.

got this controller to for my 29g tank and love it. It does everything it says, if you can figure it out. No istructions in the box, just a quickstart guide which is a fold out pamphlet. No real programming instructions and for full instruction you have to go to their website. What if I dont have the internet in my home? Also for the 269.00 I paid for this I would expect a printed version of some directions to operate it. Ive figure a lot out, but some I still do know know.

Definitely worth the money. This thing does a lot for you and can make keeping a tank much easier and less time consuming.
However it doesn't come with instructions and it is difficult at times to be able to figure out how to program the machine to tell it what you want to do.

But just liek everyone else expect to spend 2 hours just tring to fiqure out how to download the softwafre and doing a firmware update, once that is done this thing rocks. more direction in the box would make it percect!

This controller is easy to program and figure out. It can only use up to 4 modules, like sl1, pc4 and so on. When you need more equipment, simply swap out the head unit for an RKE. Excellent controller, great price!

I didnt realize all I was getting when I ordered this product.It does EVERYTHING.Temp,ORP PH all monitored.It sends me email alerts (with the NET) it controls all my lights and timers.What a godsend!

Bought this to automate my tank so that I don't have to monitor every aspect of my tank at all times. Fairly easy to install, you just have to access the support forum because instructions are not existent with this unit. Timers and function are easy to setup, and I'll be ordering double float valves soon to be rid of that manual task.

I didnt think I was ever going to need one of theese things.ITS ALREADY SAVED MY TANK! The other day I got an alarm that my heat was approaching 82 degrees.Without that alarm my wife would never have noticed something amiss and called me at work.My heater was malfuctioning and on its way to cooking my tank.Thank you Reefkeeper!

it's just about set it and forget it. i have a job that keeps me away from home for 24hr periods at a time. this left my wife who has no idea how to care for my reef tank in charge. now with the reefkeeper lite all of my important life support functions are monitored and controlled by the RKL all i need my wife to do now is to glance at the the display to make sure everythings in order and to top-off my ATO reservoir.

I have had a few minor problems with my RKL and Digital Aquatics has been a real pain to communicate with. Don't expect DA to be too much help with any problems you may have.

I bought this to automate, reliably, some of my tanks' tasks. I was impressed with the help at the DA online support forums. I was able to setup my metal halides, dosing pumps and heater without too much difficulty. I just wish that it came with 3 power strips instead of 2. The temp probe and pH probes work great. This is a system I will be upgrading/expanding in the future.

Bought this as my first aqaurium computer and i was very impressed! since i have bought the RKL i have since upgraded to the RKE because the RKE is able to operate more than 4 modules. if you are trying to decide between the RKL and the RKE and have the extra $$$ go for the RKE!

The control unit is very nice, seems well thought out and is easy to use.
However, the PC4 units are susceptible to a mechanical issue that can leave a
socket stuck in the ON position even though the controller thinks the socket is OFF. If you happen to have your heaters plugged into that socket you can kiss your
reef goodbye. Yes, anything made by engineers can have issues and that's why
a company needs good customer support, but with Digital Aquatics they require
the return of the defective part before they will take any action. Seriously, I want
this equipment out of my system.

I love this Device! I use it to control everything. The heater option allows me to keep my temps with in .1 Degree and that's way better than trying to set it. Also I use an old heater that use to burn up and set the default to off and the RKL make this device work flawless. I also love that it can tell me amps as well as graph anything I want. The ph is right on I don't use the ORP as it's not need for my saltwater tank, but I use the switch port for my ATO and love it.

When I got this I got it mostly because my husband thought my birdsnest of wires, power strips and bulky timers in my stand was a fire hazard! :o

I really just expected it to be sort of a fancy timer and now realize it's so much more.
I have it set up to drip kalkwasser once the pH drops below a certain point and I have been able to minimize my pH swings so much.
I also love the delay features and - of course- the timers. My heater is set on a controller as well and power to the heater is cut off if it ever goes beyond a certain temp -extra insurance because it's no fun to roast your inverts due to a sticky heater.

I needed a little tech support but DA was very responsive.

Didn't think I'd really need a ReefKeeper until I got one and now it would be hard to live without it. I got the #3 package that includes the pH and temp probes and a second power strip and it was perfect for me.
