I love this pump. It pumps a good amount of GPH to my display tank, and it is pretty quiet. It is slightly noisier than Eheims I bought in the past, but I bought a silencer pad that helped cut back on the noise.

I wish it had a suction cup slide mount!

This thing has some nuts! Tried the $25 Eco pump, it was a joke compared to this. The Eco pump did not have the power for my drip irrigation system. But the Mag-Drive dose! Just don't do what I did. I tested it in the kitchen sink, the results was very dramatic, everything within 10' was soaked in two seconds

I've had several Mag Drives in the past. Currently I alternate between 2 Mag 7s in my mixed reef for return duty. I went an entire year without cleaning one Mag and it was still going strong. Absolutely zero problems our of these guys. The only minor problem is that they can be noisy, however given their price point more than makes up for a little noise.

Hooked this up along with the Mag 5. Both are a little noisy not any louder than an ecotech mp40 on 100% but still noticable. Very reliable and powerful.

This little guy has been running steady for 1 1/2 years and just keeps on going. Very reliable, and quiet. I run it with the foam prefilter in place and clean it on a regular maintenance schedule.

Pumping water from my water storage barrels in my garage into my aquarium with a 6' height difference is no problem. No more carrying buckets. Plug the pump in and let it go. It has a quiet operation and makes water changing faster.

Using the mag 7 for a return on a 40 breeder. works great, but it was a little noisy at first. It's been running for about months and it has started to quiet down a bit. I did put a foam pad under it it that helps too. I also had it originally plumed it with pvc and switched it out for flex tubing (recommend). so there are things you can do to quiet it down a bit. other than that, the pump works fine and moves plenty of water. I have about 5' of hose with a check valve so i should be getting in the 400 gph range.

I have had several of the Mag drive pumps over the years. The mag drive 5 and mag drive 7's i have had run great. Impeller life isn;t the greatest but replacements aren't too expensive.

It's a strong sturdy pump which works under the most adverse conditions, has never failed because of lack of cleaning and impeller replacement. I have three of these sitting in the sumps of three reef tanks, and unlike a host of other pumps, these have never failed me. I have them sitting on rubber mousepads to dampen the noise and vibrations

Got this pump and within minutes was hooked up and running. The noise level is a little high as other review state. I found out the noise is greatly reduced by setting the pump on top of a foam pad to absorb vibration. Has no problem moving water to my 55 gallon at 6ft head loss. Power consumption is good for the price.

This pump works awesome, but the only downfall is that it is a little noisy.
But its a great pump. And would buy another if i needed to. Gave 4 stars just because it is a little noisy. Other than that does what it claims.

I have this pump returning water to my display tank 6ft up and it is working wonderfully. It is fairly loud until it is broken in, but after break in the pump is extremely quiet.

This is the pump I use on my 75 reef tank w/ 30g sump. It sits in the sump and provides 390 gph at 5' (which I would say is the average length of pipe between sump and display tank. I definitely recommend this pump!

I'm pretty happy with this pump. I'm running a 40 breeder with a 20 long sump. I've got 42" of head height, with the pump plumbed up to a 'tee' and a section of loc-line coming off each side. It really pushes the water through the system, which is why I got it. The only down side to this pump, compared to a Quiet One is that it is a little noisy. I've managed to help with the noise by cutting a small sponge filter on one side and placing under the pump, as well as putting a short section of flexible tubing between two unions. I can still hear a hum, but it's not nearly as bad as it was before. Overall, I have no regrets.

Using the mag7 as a return pump on my 75 gallon with a 30 gallon sump and it has great flow, (could have got away with the mag5 i think). The only thing that i dont like about this pump is that its kinda loud, But a good pump overall.

I am pumping my RO/DI water up through 1/2" PTEX up about 8 feet, and over about 20 feet. all in all about 40 feet of 1/2" PTEX. This pump can still maintian a good flow rate even with all the added resistence.

I wish it were a bit cheaper. But all in all a great buy.

the pumps a little loud and a pain to clean, mostly because of the use of metal screws which tend to rust. never had an issue with performance though.

I purchased the pump from my lfs for my 72g mixed reef with a 30g sump. I currently have pvc plumbing with 8ft of head pressure. This pump still is delivering 360 gallons at the return outlet. The pump is a bit noisy but the performance is second to none. I will continue to use Mag Drive pumps on all my systems.

I had one of thes as my return pump its a strong little pump but seams to loose flow pretty quick with any restriction on the input. Plumbed up temporarily as an external pump and was surprised at how hot the body gets, and to thank all that heat was going into my water will be using external pumps as much as possible to avoid chillers! Still a great value if you have.limited space.

I'm using this as a return pump with about 4' of head. It flat out moves water really impressed with the flow that I'm getting. Its a louder then my Eheim 1250 but moves twice the water and is cheaper. What more could u ask for
