The Reef Octopus 200 rocks!! My old skimmer of 10 years just wasn't doing the job so I did quite a few searches and inquiries with other reefers about a reasonably priced, efficient skimmer. The skimmer of choice was the RO.

I put it in the sump of my 180 and it's polishing the water; I can tell the difference in the 24 hrs its been in service. The picture doesn't do justice to the size. Check your space requirements and if it fits get it NOW!

I come from a nano hobbyist background, who recently upgraded to a 175 gallon set up and wanted a great skimmer for a great price, I came across this skimmer and haven't read a bad review so I thought I would give it a shot, this being my first skimmer I really didn't know what to expect. Let me tell you it is awesome, it was a little noisy at first, but after the pump broke in, I can barely hear it. and it pulls "gunk" out like crazy, very easy to dial in with the gate valve, literally had it dialed in within 2 minutes... also very easy to set up. I live neat BRS, so I could pick it up same day as I ordered it, and the service received once I got there was fantastic... Will definitely buy from them again.

Dollar for dollar it is hard to ignore this skimmer. Not going to skim like a BK but for $1000 less you get a great capable skimmer that still pulls the gunk.

I shopped around before deciding on this protein skimmer. Once I got it I was really pleased with the quality of construction. Once I put it into service it really performed. This item seems to sell out quickly when it becomes available. If it is in stock grab it. You'll be glad you did. I am.

This Skimmer was very easy to set up. And began producing foam on day two. Keep in mind it is rather large.

Its a very nice skimmer. Sicce pump is questionable. If you check online you will see that this pump has problem starting up. The pump will just keep on humming without turning the pin wheel. I need to order a spare pump to keep my skimmer running, while I am servicing the other pump, which is like every 2 weeks. If my second pump failed also, I think I will go with the vertex, which I regret that I didn't get in the first place.

By far the best skimmer in the price range! I have this set up in my 100gal. SPS heavy tank and once it breaks in it is the skimmate king. By far the best skimmer I have owned. and would highly recomend it to anyone looking for a skimmer.

You can't get a better skimmer for this price. I've had this skimmer for over a year now and Its never had a problem. I feed my bio-pellet reactor line right in to it, skims all of the bacteria right out of the water.

I never realized that protein skimmers turned water to milk until I set this thing up in my sump. From the bubble plate to the neck filled with micro bubbles so small and fine it looked like it was full of milk. My old skimmer took a week to produce as much skimmate. I have only had it for a week now so it is still breaking in but I have a feeling it is going to do wonders for my tank. BRS seems to run out of them real fast so if your looking for one here and they have them grab it when you can.
The best skimmer you will find for 300 dollars hands down I dont think you will find one this nice for under 5 or 6 hundred either

I use a 200 on my 155 gallon tank, and the amount of protein it removes is great. I have not used any other skimmer, but the wedged adjusting tube works well, although it is somewhat finicky. The pump can be a bit noisy, but again, I have nothing to compare it to. My pump had issues, and required that it be returned to CoralVue (the manufacturer). Customer service was fantastic, turn around time was a day. It works great now.

With out a doubt one of the best skimmers on the market.. But the pumps are extremely noisy. Changing wheels does not help..
