who knew By Michael on 2/6/12

Just installed one of these on an RO system I've been running for a few years, but switched form a 35gpd to one of brs's 75gpd. I had no idea my city water was so high pressure. The guage has been maxed out, now I know I need a pressure regulator before I blow some of the plumbing. The good news is I seem to be getting more like 120gpd thats to the high pressure!

A must for any RO system...period. By Tony on 2/1/12

The efficiency of a RO system is directly correlated to the flow going through the membrane. If you don't know that, then how do you know how efficient it is running? You may get 0 TDS off you meter, but you still may not be maximizing your GPD output. Once you establish your input flow at the membrane you will have a good indicator of your prefilter's(sediment and carbon block) performance. Sometimes your sediment filter will start to clog without the visual confirmation and this helps by the drop in pressure across the gauge.
Secondly, the glycerin unit is really the way to go if you want to have a consistent/accurate reading without the needle jumping/sticking syndrome.

Should also purchase this with any RO/DI system. By Bob on 1/11/12

This is almost a must on any RO/DI system. I found post the RO gauge was showing swings to lower pressure causing me to think that the carbon filters were in need of changing. I after checking further I found the city water pressure was shifting around causing the pressure changes. I would have needlessly changed out the carbon filters without a guage installed on the supply line to the RO unit. Also ordering the supply pump to build and maintain supply pressure and I wont have to be relying on the city to give me constant pressure, can't rely on them for much of anything out here except the bill showing up!!!!!

this is a must have for any ro/di unit it takes the guess work out of when filter(s) need to be changed and to know how much psi your unit is getting.. i have 60psi .... A+++

I installed this on my coralife ro di unit in less than a minute. Very simple to use. Will let you know if your pressure is correct to get the bset performance from your unit.

Highly recommend if you plan on using a booster pump By Faithful Fish Wife on 7/10/11

You will want this if you have a booster pump. It holds the pressure needle very stable even against the vibrations caused by the pump.

Inexpensive piece of useful equipment By James on 3/18/11

A highly accurate yet simple gauge to install that will provide you with some valuable information. This gauge will help give you determine if your water pressure going into your RO filter is sufficient for your system (you may need a booster pump) or will give you an indication that your pre-filters may need changing. If your going to invest in a RO/DI system, I recommend adding this to your cart as well.

Air versus Glycerin By Mrfairywrasse on 2/6/11

Thinking about the difference between the air and glycerin filled gauges, and saving a few bucks? There is no comparison, the glycerin gauge is awesome. When the system is pressurized, there is no sudden and dmaging needle spike, just a slow and accurate needle rise to the correct pressure reading. Really worth the few extra buxks for sure.
