Far exceeded my expectations By Matt on 2/13/13

I recently ordered 30lbs of rock to complete the rock needed for my tank. I had purchased some live rock from my lfs, but they didn't have enough pukani in stock. I found the dry pukani here at BRS. I was afraid that I would get mostly small pieces considering the small order size. I received approx. 10 large pieces and am VERY pleased with the look of the rock!

Wonderful way to start your tank. Rock comes carefully shipped and was surprisingly intact with minimal rubble.

I can't believe this stuff. I upgraded from a smaller tank to a 180 and had 104 pounds of tonga kealini rock that I really liked and didnt think I would find a rock I was happier with. I wanted to double the amount of rock I had in the tank to fill it in well. My budget only allowed 50 pounds of this rock right now. (building this slowly). But its a good thing. I have no idea what I would have done with 100 pounds of this. The 50 pounds of pukani equaled the size of my 103 pounds of kealini. Not at all exaggerating, it may even be more volume wise. Great looking rock, big light pieces. Super happy.

BRS ROCKS!! By Bryce on 2/13/13

I have ordered Pukani twice now and this last order I went with one rock which was 12 pounds and I asked that BRS send me a show piece to fulfill my order that would be the center piece of my 65 gallon and I was ecstatic about the rock I got. The rock is 17" tall 13" wide and shaped like an upside down triangle and it stands on its own after I cut 1/2 inch off the bottom and it is how it naturally grew when it was in the ocean. It will be the perfect platform for the sps corals I want up high. Thanks BRS for allowing us too add comments to our orders and for actually fulfilling customers requests!! I do recommend curing this rock for 3-4 weeks in saltwater, I just use the water from my other tanks water changes.

I wish live rock from LFS was like this By Subodh on 2/13/13

I got fed up of the hitch hikers and pests that come in local fish store purchased pukani live rock. If you already have any piece of pukani you already know its real great for stacking up, for fitting those coral plugs as if they are a natural fit and the ease of poking holes and making natural looking caves is un-surpassable. To make things even better, any amount of pukani stacked up lookes like a natural coral reef on its own, it doesn't look like its made of individual pieces.
The pukani rock from BRS arrived in well packaged (overly packgaed I should say) large shipping boxes and boy are they beautiful. Almost every piece comes in a triangualr shape with a near perfect base on the narrow side, plenty of holes and crevices in which I could fit the corals or argonite plugs and they are prstine/clean. The rock weighs so little that I was surprised to see just 20 lbs of rock was more than 4 times what I had from the LFS (live pukani rock) and many times more beautiful and configurable. Now I just need to wait until this rock gets the live-ness from the others so I can throw the LFS rocks away. No pests or hitchhikers of any sort although I cured these rocks for 2 weeks in a separate tank before adding them to the main tank.
Highly recommended.

Good stuff By Nuno on 2/13/13

I ordered some of this pukani rock and the 50lb box fiji rock out of the two I would say I like the fiji rock better because the coraline algea (neon green, pink purple) started growing on it faster. After about a month and a half to two months and now some pink/purple coraline algea is starting to grow on the pukani rock, but still great light rock.

Good base rock By wholland on 2/13/13

This is really good base rock for your reef. I was pleased with the very large pieces, in fact, many were so large that they had to be broken into smaller components.
The rock was quite clean, although I noticed a small spike in both nitrate and phosphate for a few days following the installation of the rock in my aquarium.

Good quality, very porous By Trevor on 2/13/13

I received some very large pieces of rock, which I used to make caves like BRS shows in their instructional video. Very easy to make numerous caves and flat pieces with just a chisel and hand saw. I will be using this as my base rock to support live rock pieces which I don't want to cut.
The rock was packaged well and there were almost no broken pieces. This rock is very light and porous, so you get a lot of rock for a little weight.

I asked for watermelon sized rock and thats exactly what they sent. Very light and porous. This rock is harder to aquascape than the reef saver stuff but for me it was worth the extra time.
