I received some very large pieces of rock, which I used to make caves like BRS shows in their instructional video. Very easy to make numerous caves and flat pieces with just a chisel and hand saw. I will be using this as my base rock to support live rock pieces which I don't want to cut.
The rock was packaged well and there were almost no broken pieces. This rock is very light and porous, so you get a lot of rock for a little weight.

I asked for watermelon sized rock and thats exactly what they sent. Very light and porous. This rock is harder to aquascape than the reef saver stuff but for me it was worth the extra time.

I was very concerned about using "live rock" as I had many challenges with nuisance organisms in previous tanks.
I decided to go with dry rock this time and I cannot be more satisfied. The rock is amazing and it is very easy to chisel and cut into any desired shape. My aquarium has been running for about 4 months now and the rock is about 50% covered with coralline algae.

I purchased 55lbs of this rock for my 90 gallon reef tank (to replace all my old very heavy rock that was hard to keep stacked and place corals upon. This shipment was well packed and had only a few pounds of rubble. Also there was very little organic matter on it to remove. I specified that I needed two show pieces so that the remaining rock would allow me to aquascape around the two large pieces. To my surprise, although at first I was disappointed, I got three large pieces which ranged from 13-17 lbs each! These are large pieces that go from half way to 2/3 of the way up the tank. In the end I'm very happy with what I received because I have three large towers and nothing else on the bottom to stack or balance and it has left me with a lot of exposed bottom in the tank to place corals. This is the most impressive aquascaping I have ever seen with the three towers! There are plenty holes and crevices on each piece to place corals on so I'm totally happy. I this is the best rock to work with IMO and it's well worth the price. I'll never have any other type of rock and my only regret is that I wasted money on my original rock instead of going right to the Pukani rock. Thank you BRS!

This is awesome dry rock, I use this in my 34gal tank and it looks great ! One thing to keep in mind if you ever have to catch a fish..good luck ! lol. This rock has lots of hiding spots for everything and is very "natural" looking. Took about 2 weeks to completely cycle for me, used a plastic tub with a powerhead and heater.

Great looking rock. Very easy to work with. I ordered 120 lbs for my 120 gallon tank and can't fit it all. All of the rocks were quite large which gave me a lot of options for aquascaping.

I've never had any experience with Pukani rock. I didn't know what to expect with others talking about how light it is and how much volume you get. I ordered 120 lbs and told BRS that it was for our new Red Sea Max 650. The rocks they sent are awesome and geared towards the size I informed them of. Might not need anymore. Huge pieces, very clean. There was very little breakage. Will buy again. Thanks BRS

This rock is simply amazing! Light weight so you get more for your money, very porous and can be fitted together to give it a seamless look. Every piece looks completely different from the next, not just rounds rocks. The fact that you don't get the unwanted pests either you can't put a price on that. Package well, came within 3 days! Just got my 50Ibs of BRS Pukani and I am very impressed. I got this to cure and add to my 220 gallon tank and the big pieces I got are going to work out great. There was some breakage at the bottom but that is ok for me as was in the need for some rubble. This stuff is far better than I have ever seen any place else and I highly recommend it. Thanks again BRS for another great product.

I ordered 50Ibs of this to match the 100 pounds of live rock i already have for my 220 gallon aquarium. I am very happy with what came in the package. I got some pieces that are so big you hardly ever find at a LFS. it is very clean and porous many places for things to hide and plug in corals. I can not wait for this to cure so I can add it to the tank and complete my aquascape.

First off, I ordered 30lbs and they shipped 36lbs. This rock alone about doubles the size of the 50lb box of Fiji I also ordered at half the weight. The rock exceeded my expectations with some awesome looking pieces. The box came very well packaged with barely and rubble, but that rubble will just be added to the sump!

This is amazing rock for the price. I would suggest that you only order .5lbs per gallon for a reef tank, as this rock is extremely porous. Also BRS does an amazing job at picking out sizes that you suggest. All in all I would highly recommend this item.

I wanted to use two types of rock for my aquascaping, and decided that Pukani would be the base, since it was so large and porous. I asked for 20 lbs., but am sure that I got closer to 25 or more - and all in two, massive pieces! Perfect for the base of my structure. My rock was pretty clean, and a few days into the curing process, my PO4 is only registering at .01. Like others have said, plan on ordering less of this rock than others, otherwise you'll wind up with extra!

I am currently moving up to a 120 gal. reef tank. I ordered 55lbs of Pukani dry rock and when i recieved the rock I was astonished!! Not one rock broke during shipment. They even sent me my new showpiece rock its 23" tall and 14" wide! Just love it. And I didnt even request any particular size rock. thanks again BRS.

I just bought 75 lbs of this very light rock for my 165gal reef. I will probably buy 30 lbs more and be done. I received a lot of big pieces that I will need to break with my last order. So I will have to make a note for my next order for some smaller piece. Over all I am very pleased with my purchase and would do it again.

I bought 150lbs of Pukani for my 180 hoping I would have enough rock. I had heard it was very light for the volume rock and boy were they right. I have under 120lbs aquascaped and my tank is very full. It is hands down the most beautiful rock I have seen and just is so light and has tremendous character. With thoughful aquascaping the
(shelves) you can leave yourself to mount corals to are endless, If something ever happened and I had to start again there is no question that I would run straight for the Pukani.

I am excited to get this rock cured and set into the tank. The Pukani rock is extremely light which makes the aquascaping even easier. You really get quite a sizable amount of rook for the weight which only means that you will have more rock to choose from when starting off. More options = better looking tank ;-)

There are so many reasons to go with this Pukani Dry, I'll touch on the basics. Looks Great, Lightweight, Very Porous, Easy to work with, Dead, Price, Customer Service. So now you know buy it you won't regret it.
A majority of my small show tank is Pukani Dry rock from BRS. I told them exactly what I needed and they delivered, A LFS was selling Live Rock at $2 a lb. so I picked up nearly 100 lbs. to drop my nitrates while I waited for my Special Order Biopellet Reactor. Got ripped off on both sides of the deal, paid to much for the BP Reactor as they tried to hustle me for a lesser product, and the Live Rock that I hand selected out of their huge Vats of Live Rock, trust me I selected the very best pieces, but still I regret the purchase. I will never go LIVE again. I'm still finding Bristleworms, and fighting Cyano that all came in with that rock. (Not to mention all the little critters I'll probably find in the future, and the small ones I can't see.)
My Pukani Dry is about 8 months old and is now covered in thick blotches of coralline algae and the reefs inhabitants love it, Totally worth the wait letting it turn on it's own. The fact that there are no animals living in or on is definitely a plus let the dry rock cycle on its own. Check out my VLOG if this review isn't enough.

This rock is really dirty; i decided to do a muriatic acid wash and then cured it in salt water for about 3 weeks. All in all i would still buy it again. It looks great and it's super porous and light weight.

After reading all of the reviews, this dry rock came in exactly as expected - great! It's amazingly light and porous. Packaging was really good. Very little breakage during shipping. I reduced the number of pounds for the size tank I wanted to build and still ended up with more rock than would reasonably fit. This was nice, because I got to be more creative cutting without fear of messing up a nice piece.

I recently ordered 50 lbs of Pukani and got more than I ever expected. One very large piece that I chiseled in half for two nice shelfs, and plenty of smaller pieces to drill and make another shelf. Completely filled up my 75. Perfect!!! with some leftover rubble in the refugium. The rock is so light weight and porous. I've never seen rock so nice. Phosphates have remained low while cycling the tank. Thanks for a great product BRS. It really makes my tank stand out with such a great looking rock and very easy to aquascape. Everyone has been saying Wow when checking it out.

Great, porous, light rock. Ordered 40 pounds and got 6 very nice pieces ranging in size from a watermelon to a football. Some of the rock was very clean, and some of it appeared to have a lot of dead organic matter on it. I would strongly recommend to anyone planning to use this rock to make sure they cure it correctly. If you aren't patient, I would suggest you take a look at the reef saver instead. I've used both now and while I prefer the look of Pukani, the trade off in time (6 weeks for Pukani, 1 week for Reef Saver) may be a consideration for others.
Would definitely plan to use this rock again.

I ordered 12 pounds of Pukani for a 16 gallon nano tank. In the notes of the order I mentioned the tank dimensions I was working with and received very nice pieces. It is very light weight for its size. There is quite a bit of dead matter on it but in my case this is going into a new tank so it will help with the initial cycle. Thanks BRS.

Ordered a 10 lb. showpiece. I was very happy. It was one large piece that is so full of little holes that I wanted to make a cave in it , but didn't because the rock was perfect the way it was!! Wish I knew about this rock when I started this tank I never would have ordered the expensive live rock. I also ordered the rock saver 10 lbs. of that. A Also wonderful. Only regret is that I didn't order more.

This rock does have some dead material on it which adds nutrients but after soaking it for a couple weeks all this came off and it works just like any other rock but looks 20 times as cool. The extra effort is well worth it.

Got this rock for a nano. I asked for and got smaller pieces. There are all sorts of shapes and sizes so I have a lot of options. This is light rock. I ordered 20 pounds at it filled nearly half of a 20 gallon high I'm using to cure it in. It looks like it will be easy to shape the rock if I need to trim a few corners. I'll put what I can't use in a different tank that has Fiji live rock and hope the rock fashion police don't come along and tell me in doing it wrong.

This rock has great shapes and is very lightweight but my experience is that it leaches nutrients like crazy. I have struggled with hair algae for months and am just beginning to win the battle. I would not use it again

I have been keeping reef tanks for over 10 years in that time I've had many tanks and have ordered many types of live rock. This for the money is the best you can get. If you like to create your own caves or customize your rock with a chisel this is a great option. Also being so light you will be getting much more surface area than you would with many other types of lr.

Overall this is nice rock. I haven't put it in the tank yet though since I am making some adjustments to it. I ordered a piece that was 16-18 inches and got one that was 13 inches tall. I called in to talk to someone about weight prior to ordering and added on extra weight to make sure that I got one that was tall enough. I requested the order to be held until they had a piece of that size and any weight left over send me in rubble. What I got was a size smaller than requested and about 3 pounds of rubble. I would have rather waited until they had what I requested. It is a huge inconvenience to send back so I'll make due, but make sure if you are doing a project order way larger and cut down.
