The rock delivered was fantastic! We are trying to build a tank not dominated by one specific rock, and ordered 16 lbs pukani for an accent and base. We will definitely order more. The size and varied shapes were fantastic. Kudos to BRS for the way they sort and pick what is sent out, they obviously care about what we as their customer get. Very impressed by their standards and have gained my respect and future business.
Super Duper A+ Rock By Bryan on 3/3/2015

This was my first experience with dry Pukani rock. I am setting up a 200g deep dimension reef so I ordered 120 pounds to start with. The pieces are awesome. Excellent shapes, and I cannot believe how light the rock is. I think my heaviest piece is maybe 15 pounds, and its easily 24". This rock is also super easy to work with. Need a flat base? Sawzall or hacksaw. There isn't any 'best' side and the rocks aquascape incredibly easy. Wish I had used this in the past. I have Tonga branch and shelf in another tank, and aquascaping with that was always a challenge.
Beautiful Large Pieces By Shawn on 2/26/2015

I ordered 120 pounds of the standard size and received 6 pieces that were between 15" and 20" in diameter each. So really nice big pieces even with the standard size. I encourage you to watch the videos the Ryan made regarding aquascaping with this rock. I found it very easy to cut with a hack saw and very easy to chisel holes in.

I had ordered 90 lbs of pukani dry live rock for my new aquarium build. The pieces of rock were huge and easy to manipulate. i couldn't fit t all in my aquarium but that gave me extra for my refugium. The way the rock was shipped was also great as i didn't have a bunch of broken pieces at the bottom of the bag. Once again i am satisfied with my order from BRS.com

awesome rock, best looking rock by far. no problems with phos or nitrates but would defiantly recommend curing rock for a few weeks - acid bath if you're really concerned but defiantly not necessary

I ordered 50 pounds for my new tank. needed to curing this rock in a separate container for some time and let the cycle complete before using this in my new tank. Pick off the dead sponges that are visible.
This rock that is very porous and makes excellent locations for placing frags

This stuff is awesome. Exactly as it looked in the videos. Easy to work with and makes for a great base in the tank. Definitely heed the advice on the amount. Much less dense than the live rock you're used to so you won't need as much as you think. We're not a fan of the "giant rock wall" look and found that 1 lb per gallon was more than enough. Even have some left over for the next tank (assuming I get permission of course ;-) ).
Pukani Rock - Looks Great - 35lbs By William on 12/29/2014

Purchased to save money vs. buying live rock at 3X the cost. Takes a little effort to make ready but worth the cost savings. Looks great, pieced together really well, was able to make the aquascape I had envisioned very easily. Would recommend to anyone looking to start a new tank and wants to save a lot of money.

Excellent rock, the problem with the box that I received is it was 80% pieces of 3 1\2" and smaller. Think it will be salvageable with a lot of glue and work.

Received my shipment of Pukani dry rock last week. I was very specific about what I needed, but thought it might be a difficult request. Well BRS sent exactly what I wanted. The rock looks amazing. No broken pieces in shipping. I highlyy recommend the Pukani and BRS.

The only negative I can say about this rock is that you must "cook" the phosphates out of it before using in your tank. This process took me about 2 months.
That said, once I added the rock to my display, it looks fantastic. My wife and I do a lot of diving in Micronesia and this rock looks just like those areas.
Also it's very light so less weight goes a long ways.

So I ordered 75 pounds of this rock and asked for the biggest pieces they could give me. I figured that I would get 1 or 2 large pieces and many smaller ones, however I was shocked to see nothing smaller than a football and a couple of pieces that were nearly 20" in length!
Not to mention that they sent me an extra 10 pounds worth of rock in the order.
I've already laid it out and it is going to look gorgeous. It's sitting in a 32g trash barrel right now cooking and I can't wait to get it in my tank.

Great Rock - Beware! By Paul on 12/8/2014

Ordered this rock as part of Black Friday deal, and it came quick. Lots of rock for my 120 (75lbs).
Rock definitely needs to soak for a while. After 2 days the stench...dear god. Smell is gone, but phosphates in 1 tub are well over 1.00 ppm at the moment. Patience is a virtue, and with this rock it'll pay off.

I ordered 120 pounds for my new tank. I started curing my rock in a large trash can and let the cycle complete before I moved this into my tank. You will really want to pick off the dead sponges because there are a few. This is great rock that is very porous and makes excellent hiding spots for my green clown goby and resting spots for placing corals. Looks great in my tank.

I ordered 40 pounds of this rock and for the most part, received on 40 pound rock. This would not be so bad except that I was expecting more of what I saw in the video which, I guess, I will now have to attempt to create with a hammer and chisel. I was expecting to do some of this to customize the look but, not to have to create 5-7 pieces from one big piece.

When I first got this stuff holly cow there was way more then what I thought I was getting. When I was soaking it before putting it in my tank it bubbled for ever. So many small holes and place for water to get into. For me it has actually turned into a copepod heavan for breeding. Even my mandarin gobie can't seem to eat it all. Totally love this rock and well worth every penny!

This is my second time ordering this. I ordered a smaller quantity this time of only 30 pounds, so I wasn't sure what I would get. They sent me about 4 huge pieces and a small one (by small I mean volley ball sized). Very pleased, the rock is very light so you get a lot more for your money. If you wanted smaller pieces and you were sent a few large ones, this stuff isn't too hard to break and manipulate how you want. You can even easily drill holes to insert pvc or acrylic rods to support your structure. BRS recently did a porosity test to compare different rocks structure and its possible filtration ability. The only thing that came close to pukani was a product that was specifically engineered for that purpose, and cost quite a bit more.

Reviewed previously under Hasty nickname. Nothing to add except you should be aware that, at least with my rock, that it will be loaded with dead material. It took me about 3 days of soaking in salt water to get rid of this material. My water looked like pea soup. I soaked them in a 20 gal tank and added sand and crushed coral to mix after water cleared and frequent water changes. Tank cycling for 2 weeks now. I eventually will take the rock out of this tank and put in my 40 gal reef tank, transferring the damsels in the reef tank to my 20 gal. Rock is looking pretty good as it cures.

I bought 150 lbs of this and 50 lbs of the reef saver and this is worth the price, unlimited possibilities of what you can do with these. Watch the video and enjoy. With it being dry you can really spend the time to create an amazing aquarium habitat. Reef or fish only, this rock is the best you can get. Call BRS and let them know what you are doing and what sizes you are looking for.
When I think dry rock from the ocean, I think BRS. By FirstContact on 11/10/2014

Really like the pukani, Fiji, and Tonga rock that BRS sells. Honestly, not even sure where I would purchase these rocks dry if not at BRS. I feel these are great products to use to make my tank, well, look like a reef. Nothing compares to what nature produces. The man made alternatives are just not the same. I use diamond coated drill bits from Hong Kong to create rock structures with fiberglass rodding as connectors and supports. Water means weight and weight costs money, and so does overnight shipping. I'd rather my rock become live in my aquarium seeded from another tank by a few small pieces and a cup of sand, and use the savings towards other purchases.
