Very satisfied with the purchase of Pukani rock. It is very porous and light for its size. There are lots of nooks and crannies for fish to hide and place coral. Great looking as well. Now onto the curing process!
20"+ Rock By Jason on 11/16/2013

As part of a aquarium redesign, I ordered 3 20"+ of this select rock. The pieces I received were great looking. They were well packed and had very little break off pieces. The fish also have tons of hiding spaces in these rocks.

This is my second tank to set up with this rock. I love how light it is.

I ordered 140lb of PUKANI... It arrived in 3 large boxes, well packed with little breakage... Some of the largest hunks of rock I have ever seen - they are HUGE, and I didn't really make any special requests. - Phosphate levels are high, but acceptable... Don't forget to cure the rock...

I went with reef saver for my larger display tank. Wanted to try something different for a cube I'm building so I went with the pukani. I think it has a more natural look than reef saver, but I still prefer reef saver in larger applications because it so easy to aquascape with.

ordered 50lbs pukani and 50lbs Fuji for my new 120gal reef tank
got much better then I expected. Plenty of nooks and crannies for critters and frag plugs, and some BIG pieces.
Great rock. Very porous By Philip on 10/17/2013

Very porous, light, and full of crevices and openings for good bacteria to culture. Only downside I had was that it started to leach phosphates. Not bad though and I got it under control very easily.

I just got my order in of this rock yesterday and I will say that I am very happy with my purchase! This rock is very porous and has tons of spots for small inverts and pods to hide in. I got lots of very nice pieces of all shapes and sizes and I can not wait to break out the dremel and see what I can do with it. The best part is that I ordered 90 lbs and received about 106 lbs.

I ordered 35lbs and boy did I get my money's worth. The rock looks great and came in big pieces to give you the opportunity to shape them how you like. Very little rubble. Maybe a half a cup.

It is amazing how light and porous this rock is. I ordered 25 lbs, and it came as three very large chunks with some smaller pieces to make up the weight.
I was able to use one of the pieces directly, but I had to break up the bigger pieces to get everything into my tank.
I would highly recommend this rock to anyone for unique aquascaping and the ability to chisel the rock into the shapes you want in the tank.
This is the way to go By Cameron on 9/29/2013

Dry rock is definitely the way to go. I have not bought any of the other types offered here just the Pukani so cannot compare but I definitely like the Pukani. As mentioned by BRS it is cheap, easy to aquascape, and very porous. This rock is so much more porous than any of the live rock I have seen in any stores. It is great I have two peppermint shrimp and most of the time cannot find them because they are inside the rocks and my rocks and tank are not that big. There is definitely an initial nutrient leaching but you can cycle the rock or just make sure you have a good clean up crew (sea hares are probably the best at that). My rock is already covered in coralline algae and I have only had it for a few months. I used a small piece of live rock from the fish store to seed my tank, as well as whatever came in with the coral frags I have added (which i think added more than the live rock piece really). No complaints at all; I bought 20 more lbs. for when I upgrade to a 40 gallon.

I purchased 30lb of Pukani Rock and was 100% satisfied when I opened the box. I have always purchased LR from my local fish store and this was my first experience trying this. I'm starting a new 90 gallon build and this was a much more cost efficient way to go about it. Wish I would have bought more. Very happy I found BRS online and couldn't be happier with the quikness of the shipment and service. Thank you.
