I have been using these filters on my RO/DI unit for a few months now, and they work like a champ. I have well water with a fairly high TDS, and these filters don't slow down hardly at all once they start to become saturated. Very pleased with these and will continue to order them.

If you have a good sediment filter, then I prefer having this 1 Micron version carbon filter over the 5 Micron version. If your unit has two carbon units, then put this one right after the 5 Micron MatrikX. BTW, for a filter that works this well, getting from BRS is a no-brainer. And that's considering I actually import these things to the Philippines! The price here in BRS is simply great!

Since most RO/DI units already have a pre-filter (sediment filter), if the sediment filter is doing a good job, then I would recommend the 1 Micron version more. HOWEVER, if you have two carbon filters, then this works fantastically well in conjunction with the 1 Micron (i.e., Sediment -> 5 Micron Carbon -> 1 Micron Carbon -> RO -> DI).

I bought these for replacement purposes for the RO/DI I previously purchased from BRS. The pressure gauge on the RO/DI is really a great indicator of when to change your filters, when the pressure starts to drop, it's time to change.
This filter works great so far, combined with the great price, I call it a WINNER!

I have used various carbon block filters over the years and these are the best I've found. They last longer than others and keep my RO Membrane lasting longer too. Cheaper ones will clog and reduce flow faster. I have been measuring the TDS after the RO unit and with these Matrikx Filters they are usually around 34mS. Great product!

The price is fantastic on this guy. I replaced a nasty cheap carbon block that was probably leaking carbon powder into my membrane with this guy. It does it's job. I combined it with a Pentek ChlorPlus behind it to take care of chloramines too.

This is pretty much the industry standard for RO carbon prefilters. These are long lasting filters that a quite clog resistant. I've been using these for years and they are outstanding at eliminating chlorine going to your membrane. Unless you have chloramines in your feed supply, this should be your filter of choice.
