I used to use a Kalk Wasser mixture. However it was impossible to contain the chemical, it floated through the tank.
The Aiptasia -X mixture work well.

This product is good if you only have a few aphasia in your tank. If you have an outbreak, I recommend peppermint shrimp or the "wand". I had mixed results with the product but overall the problem got worse. A gang of 10 peppermint shrimp have contained it and seem to be getting the infestation under control. If I could go back this would be a last resort.

best product for aiptasia ive used other than prevention.

I bought this because I had picked up a couple Aiptasia come in on a coral frag. I have never had these before so I was not sure what to expect. I only have a few that pop up every few weeks. As they pop up I use this product and they are gone. Just wish I could catch them before they reproduce. One squirt of his product and they die within minutes.

Well, after trying peppermint shrimp, file fish, copper banded butterfly, all of which would munch down the "tiny" aiptasia, but not the 2" long "mothership", I turned to this effective but expensive solution.

It took one treatment - one - and I wasn't even sure I was doing it right. I read the instructions, read around in forums for tips, turned off all powerheads pumps and sump return pump, gave the system a good 45 minutes to let ALL water movement settle down.

I used the curved tip on the syringe - I drew up maybe 2cc's of this stuff after shaking it through an entire half hour TV show (I hear a lot about the importance of shaking it to combat separation, and I figured not like I could "overshake" it.

I them put my hand slowly into the water, syringe first. I got down within 4-5" of the little ***** "mother" aiptasia, squeezed a little out to let the "mother" smell it, waited about 10 seconds, halved the distance to 2" away, squeezed another tiny amount out, wow, I'm this close to this thing with a syringe and it hasn't retracted!?! So far so good.

I then ever so gently moved toward the center of "mother disc" while squeezing tiny amounts out - tiny tiny amounts - then when I got to the outer "tentacles", I went for it - I shot the rest of the syringe full bore into the center of it. A second or two later, it retracted. Darn it, I thought, it caught me in the act and now I have a blob of Aip-X on top of a p***ed off aneonome that would probably spread like wildfire now that it was so rudely disturbed.

I watch and wait, and as I gave up and turned off the 10k's for the day going down to the actinics, I saw the little "implosion" they show in the videos, I thought. Hmmm. Maybe, but I'll see what I see tomorrow.

Tomorrow came, I turned all the lights on, and "mother" was nowhere to be seen - just a little white good (aip-X) where it used to swing about. About a week later, still no sign of the "mother" and the natural predators killed off all of the "baby" nuisances. Another week went by, and still nothing - WOW was I relieved - as I was ready to toss out the beautiful piece of live rock this thing was attached to, which would have required a full re-rockscaping since it was on the bottom.

Bottom line: Expensive, but if you take your time, effective. If you have big ones that thenatural predators won't touch, this is the answer - just keep some predators around for the "babies" - I can't see myself having the patience to try and hit every one of the tiny ones, failing, screaming...

I love this stuff. It doesn't hurt my corals at all of the aiptasias are too close

I got this because I had a small aiptasia problem. I tried a couple of peppermint shrimp, they didn't touch it and I had one red legged hermit crab that would eat it sometimes, but it just came back. I used this and the aiotasia just shrank up and disappeared. I accidently got some on a coral and I thought I had killed it, but it didn't seem to affect it at all.

Works great! Move slow and follow the directions and you'll love the results!

I had a good sized aiptasia growing from underneath a new frag I put into my reef. One simple injection of Aiptasia X into its mouth and it was gone in seconds, never to return. The paste dissolves over 24 hours or less and causes no harm to the rest of the reef. Great product.

Works just as it says it does. Need to stay on top of it because these things are really prolific.

I noticed some Aptasia popping up in my nano about 3 months ago. Some getting rather large. This product works fantastically but they always seem to come back.

I have button polyps, green star polyps, xenia, Duncan, and mushrooms in my nano and in the past 3 months none of these coral have been affected by the Aptasia-X. For me it has truly been ref safe as advertised.

I had purchased some live rock from a fellow reefer. Well the rock came loaded with aiptasia which I had not seen prior to purchasing it. I wanted a quicka and effective method to kill this pest. Aiptasia-X works pretty well. You just have to make sure and get it into the mouth very slowly so it does not retract. It can also be tricky depending on where the pest is located on the rock as my tank does not have a large opening at the top. All in all great product.

If you follow the directions, advance slowly towards the aiptasia while gently dispensing the product the tentacles will wrap around the needle and allow you to gently cover the entire oral disk. It will die and not release any planulae.

If you just try to blast the anemones they will retract and release their planulae causing an outbreak of little ones.

There is a LOT of solution in the bottle so if you are careful not to contaminate the bottle with salt water and replace what you don't use it will last for hundreds of satisfying cnidarian deaths! I have killed large and small aiptasia and after several weeks I have not found any babies growing anywhere.

i had a major aiptasia problem with a particular rock. I bought this product and eliminated my problem in 2 days. It did not seem to affect my corals. If you need to kill aiptasia, this works. Follow directions.

This is one of the few 'effective' commercially available remedies for nuisance anemones. Of course prevention is desirable and this won't single-handily eliminate your problem but I would consider it a staple in pest control. BRS hands-down has THE BEST price on this product - yes it is pricey - buy way more so elsewhere.

Hadn't been having luck with other forms of Aiptasia control, but this seems to do the trick. I know I didn't get all of them, but it was very satisfying watching them melt away. Hopefully the peppermints will be able to take care of things now that the cavalry has arrived.

It works in seconds. Applied correctly, Aptasia should not reproduce. But, in case it does, have some Peppermint Shrimp or a Copper-banded Butterfly fish around to eat the small Aptasia. It is a one-two punch and worked for me!

The stuff does kill the aiptasia that I spray it on but I still see small ones come up in other places in the aquarium. I use it once a week and find that i have 3-4 new ones to kill. I will see over time if it can wipe them all out.

man i can swear buy aiptasia x IMO this stuff works great i had about 20 heads of aiptasia , now there gone and it been about a month with none reappearing .2 thumbs up.....

Worked great the few times I've used it on larger aiptasia.

I have used it a few times on my tank, it kills a some aiptasias but others come back after a few weeks.

While it will does kill aiptasia, they still come back so its like trying to kill off roaches

More economical than smaller product size. Took 4 applications to get glassies and moj's undercontrol. but effort has paid off. maintain every few weeks to keep populations from growing.

The product works well, does not clog up, and the applicator is far better than in similar products. That said, I have found it almost impossible to eliminate all the Aiptasia using just chemicals. When used with a natural predator like Peppermint Shrimp (They eliminate all the little ones that always pop up after treatment) It seems to have done the trick.

I had a bunch of aiptasia from some cheap rock I urchased and this prety much wiped it all out. Peppermint shrimp took care of the minor stuff. Great product!

This product is very easy to use and so far no aiptasia have returned after 2 weeks. BRS saved me a lot of money too my LFS was selling for $25.

This stuff works, and works well! I had 35+ of these little guys and it wiped them all out in one pass. It was actually sad/funny to see them trying to open back up only to find their mouth/heads frozen shut. This stuff clumps and cleans up easily within 15 minutes. My mp40s were able to quickly shift the excess to my overflow and the tank was perfect again. I highly recommend this product!

Quickly thickens in water so it doesn't go all over your tank. Nipping the first aptasia before it can start an infestation is critical, and this makes sure that it is dead. I enjoy watching the little buggers dissolve away.

Great product! To start out with the applicator is a quality piece itself, it also comes with different tips to reach hard to get to places. You get more product in this package than competitive brands and the solution itself seems to work very well.
Won't buy anything else as long as this is still available.

I had an aiptasia-x problem and looked online for methods people suggested like injecting them with hot water and stuff like that. That really seemed like a lot of work to me.

I tried another brand, I don't remember the name, but it was like glue. Very powerful but not easy to use cause it was thick and would clog easy.

I then tried out Aiptasia-X and it was pretty easy to use. You let out a little bit of the liquid and it makes them hungry then you get close and squeeze the liquid into the mouth. It's actually kind of cool looking, they just shrivel up and die.

Anyway, after using it a few times I didn't see any problems with my corals or fish and it's been a few months since use.
