I decided to splurge and get one of these after seeing the reviews. Honestly I think its a very high quality and nicely made glass cleaner but for the price I dont think it was worth it. I still have to swipe the glass several times just like with the magfloat.
Overall its nice and more physically appealing than a mag I am happy with it just dont understand why it costs so much.

Do not look for a cheaper magnetic glass cleaner. Spend the money to get this one. It is an awesome product. The magnet strength is incredible. This is a lot of fun to use.

Be careful not to pick up any sand . . . or you will scratch your glass.

Compare to my other magnetic cleaner, this works a lot better on 3/4 glass. I just wish the inner padding is a bit thicker and more durable. Overall a fantastic product.

The stars on this review don't reflect the item, but just to get your attention: Note that all the Algea Free brand magents on BRS site are mislabeled- for instance, they say this magnet is for 1/4 and 3/8 glass or acrlyic. In fact, the packaging says for acrylic 3/16 to 1/4", for glass 1/4 to 3/8. My aquarium was 3/8 acrylic so had to return. Checking the larger sizes on the BRS, they are simlarly mislabeled- enlarge the photos of the magnets to get the correct
sizing for your aquarium. The cleaner looks well-made and I'm sure when I get the right size it will be great!

Magnet is very strong, Good size for my 90g tank. Usually only 1 pass is needed to clean the glass. Price is a bit high but well worth it. much nicer then the mag floats.

incredibly strong magnet - almost too strong - I work up a sweat and with the easy clip (extra item) very effective. Though I am concerned at the fact magnet also picks up any metal objects in the substrate - that is could scratch the glass (I've never had a magnet with this much power)

I purchased the Hammerhead based on the other reviews here and I was not disappointed. It is MUCH stronger than the cheaper mag at my LFS. It won't remove coraline of course, but the handles the softer stuff with just one or two swipes.

I bought the Great White for 3/4 inch thick glass, and it is almost too strong, but with a little body weight put into it, it worked great. The first pass wiped away about 90%+ of the algae/crud, a quick second pass got the other 10%. Only took about 10 minutes to clear the entire front pane of my tank (96x30 inches).

This is one powerful magnet! Be careful when you take it apart to put it on your tank that you don't pinch your fingers (I did). It works great. my tank is 3/4" acrylic and the magnet has good pull even at that thickness. Although the information doesn't say it - it does come with a acrylic safe pad - so don't hold back if you are thinking it's just for glass!

First mag flaot I have bought for more than $20. I was very impressed with the real wood and being able to change pads. Just a warning watch the fingers with it and don't place it together without something inbetween it, magnets are very strong.

Well, I have been using this for about 4 months now and It is great. I would never consider buying another Mag Float again. It is strong enough to remove algae quickly, but not too strong so it easily is moved around. Plus, the "wood" exterior has a MUCH nicer look than a baby blue mag float. Bottom line - Money well spent.

I managed to clean my 96" x 18" display within minutes. No need to keep going over the same area over and over. Just a few strokes and you're done. In fact my wife loves it so much that she takes the liberty to clean the glass every so often. Also switching panels is really easy without having to put your hands in the tank to reposition the inside magnet. Magnet is so strong that they are attracted from almost a foot away.

I have to say this algea cleaner is top of the line. WIckedly powerful magnets easily hold even on 3/4 in glass like I have on my tank. I added the eazy scrapper to my hammerhead and it cleans so my better and quicker then my old two little fishies magnet which really tended to float away during hard scrubbing.

Put the hammerhead and the Easy scrapper together for the perfect combo

I love this Glass Cleaner. Best cleaner I've ever owned. Since I went from Acrylic to Glass, the pads changed along with me. You definitely need to get the Easy Algae Scrapper attachment, though...as this will only get the easy algae off of your walls, but not the hard stuck on stuff, or out of control coraline algae. Would totally recommend this to a friend. In fact, I want to buy another one, just for the Easy Algae Scrapper attachment. Unfortunately, its pricey.

Make sure you get the proper size for your glass. I thought I would need this size for 1/2", boy was I wrong. This is a very powerful magnet. I could hardly move it. They are very effective, just dont go overboard! Good product. Looks very nice with the wood grain.

Very happy with this purchase. I have used cheaper mag floats in the past and this mag cleaner is much better. It has stronger magnets, and takes off most algaed with just one pass. I use this in combination with the "Easy blade scraper" to take off coraline algae.

I have been using this on my 140G reef tank, and have been very happy with it. It comes with different types of cleaning pads so you can change them out as needed. I have added the easy blade scraper to the float so occasionally I can scrape the coraline algae as well. Very strong magnets and I can actually turn the corners on my tank with out loosing the connection to in inside float.

This expensive but well-built magnet cleaner has a very strong magnet. On my tank with 3/8" glass, the magnet stutters when wiping off any build-up. The stutter causes vibrations that can disturb the sand if not the inhabitants of my tank. If I move it fast, the stutter goes away, but sometimes causes water to splash out of my rimless aquarium when working at the surface. This is a hassle, so I am now using Kent scrapers and poly pads instead.

This magnet may work just fine on thicker glass, but I think it is too strong for 3/8".
