Nathan wouldn't recommend this product to a friend
I really wanted to like this magnet. It's outer wood shell is stylish and it floats. The problem is for my tank it's just too powerful. I have a 55g glass and the magnet skips around like a 1950's record player. There is no way to get it to slide across the surface of the glass.
I've tried going up, down, fast, slow, etc. It just skips. I'm assuming that although it's listed for my thickness glass, that it's just to powerful. Oh, and keep your fingers out of the way of this thing. It looks like it could do some damage if you got your fingers caught in between the two magenets slamming shut.
Now I'm out ~$50 and don't have a functional magnet.

Great product with extremely strong magnets that enable you to remove even the crusty stuff with just a few passes. I use it on 1/2 inch starphire and it works like a charm.
I would be hesitant to use on acrylic however. One sand granule or other substance harder than acrylic and you just turned your tank into a scratched up mess.

I use 2 of these on my tanks the magnet is super strong and cleans fantastic. I have used cheaper brands and they were ok. I tried one of these and will never go back to the cheaper magnet cleaners.

I have had other brands in the past. This works fast and if you ever wear it out you can replace the pads. Buy once and pay a bit more but in the long run you come out on top

This cleaner works like a charm and is an excellent upgrade to the scrubber I previously used. I have to admit, however, that it costs more than it should. The magnets are super strong and it cleaned both sides of the glass to a sparkling clear finish. Hard to say that the results justify the price, so value was rated medium for me. I don't regret the purchase.

This is the best mag cleaner I have encountered..magnets are strong which means only one pass is needed to clean the algae off the side of your tank

I have 120 glass with .5" thick glass and I think i could have gone smaller on the magnet strength. Performs almost too well.

GREAT MAGNET BYE BYE ALGE I WAS HAVEING A BIG PROBLEM WITH ALGE NOT THE GREEN STUFF IT WAS SOMETHING LIKE BROWN SPOTS. I ALWASY USED TO USED A SCRAPER FROM KENT PRODUCTS ALSO I HAD A MAGNAFLOAT MAGNET I WAS DUMPING MY MONEY TRYING TO GO THE CHEAP WAY. BUT I LEARN MY LESSON BETTER SAVE A COUPLE EXTRA BUCKS, TO GET A GREAT PRODUCT.i HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THIS MAGNET TO ANY ONE OUT THERE TRYING TO LOOK FOR A GREAT MAGNET. BE SURE TO FOR YOUR THICKNESS IS VERY IMPORTANT MY IS 1/2 ONTHE SIDES AND 1'' ON THE BACK & FRONT.

Great magnet, Ive had my 210 gallon tank going for over a year and havent used a magnetic cleaner on it till now. I wish I would have got one a lot sooner!
