Great Doser for Price By travis on 2/2/12

chose this doser instead of profilux because of cost, and by far i'd say ive been very impressed so far. been running for over a year now, and super easy to dial in the exact amount of Ml needed to dose. love how you can divide up the dosage in cycles per day.
The only drawback ive found is that the buttons are kind of hard to press, and its a little noisy when running, but it doesnt cycle long and washes out with other sounds from sump.

First I will start by saying that overall I feel this is a very good product, especially for those who have an active lifestyle or who work irregular hours and may not be home to perform the day to day maintenance tasks on their reef, such as dosing. This was the primary reason that I originally considered this product. After reading the positive reviews, I decided to give it a shot. So far I am happy with my purchase.
First we'll discuss the positives. This unit is incredibly easy to program. All you do is set which pump you are programming, the total dosage for the day, and how many times the total dosage will be divided up by. For example, you can set the total daily dosage at 10ml, then select 4 times per day, so that it will dose 2.5ml at the 4 intervals you set. The screen is backlit as well which seems negligible but makes it all the more easy to program. I did not find the buttons to be overly hard to press, though they could be easier. You're better off using your fingernail if you have big hands. As far as delivery, the pump accepts plain old airline tubing, attached to the ends of the pump heads.
A couple of things I didn't like about the unit were the price firstly. $300 is a lot of money to spend on a pump which adds at most a few mL of additives to your tank every day. However, if you are going to use dosing pumps, this is the route I would go. If you were to buy 3 individual dosing pumps, that's 2 additional valuable plugs taken up, as well as those pumps requiring timers to operate, possibly taking up 3 spaces on your controller. This unit combines everything in one small box, which makes the price easier to cope with.
Secondly, the instructions are absolutely terrible. You can tell they were translated literally from Chinese. Some of the sentences make absolutely no sense whatsoever. At worst this is nothing more than comical, as you can still understand enough to program the unit. Just a minor annoyance.
Overall I'm very happy with the purchase of this unit. When you combine the price of 3 dosing pumps and their respective timers, the $300 really doesn't seem quite so bad. BubbleMagus (despite their horrible instructions) has a good reputation for quality products as well. I feel this product is fitting of that reputation.

This is a plug and play pump. The set up took less than 5 minutes total for all three pumps. I use two-part dosing in two pumps and magnesium in the third.
There is a manual pump feature that makes it easy to get the air out of the lines and give a little bolus if you ever need to.
The tubing they supplied was enough.
You can use any containers including commercial two-part container, but the acrylic cylinders ( although a bit over priced ) are very nice and make it easy to see the fluid levels.

This dosing pump is phenomonal. An extension can be purchased if you need it too. Its big enough to dose the essentials as it is. Was super easy to set up. And works really well. Havent had a problem yet and dont expect to have one

The first time you set it up you should manually fill the tubes with the solution for each pump so the first time the pump operates the solution actually goes in the tank and just doesn't stay in the tubes.
The one thing I didn't like was when the power goes off you have to reset the time.
A good thing is that it remembers your doses when the power goes off.

I was kinda leary of buying this item after seeing a few negative reviews online. I decided to make the purchase anyway and have been pleased. I had no problems with it so far. A month into running it and still going strong. This item is a must if dosing small amounts.

Finally my levels remain stable with the use of this unit. Two of the pump heads were broken upon receipt, but I was promptly sent replacement heads. Buttons are hard to push, but once you understand that, it is easy to operate. Recommend getting the containers they sell as well. I use 3 of the 2.5 L containers for my Mag, Calc, Alk. Also get the mounting brackets for the unit and tubing. Already thinking about getting me the second unit for additional dosing of other elements.

This dosing pump is super easy to setup without using the instructions that come with it. The directions are very poorly, directly translated Chinese. I did not use them at all. Once you plug it in you set the time, set each pumps ml/day and times per day, then adjust accordingly from there. Extra tubing is a must. It does not use standard airline. You must purchase mini airline tubing.

• Positive: Easy to use and easy to setup.
• Negative: buttons are a bit hard to push at times if you have big hands like me.
• Tips: you may want to buy extra hose tubing.
