If you have a large, heavily stocked reef, you know that magnesium can deplete and cause problems with your calcium levels. And, you might have noticed that it takes a lot of additive to replenish your magnesium. I have a 100 gallon heavily stocked SPS tank with heavy GFO and carbon that robs a lot of magnesium, due to my tang population. The BRS Magnesium mix is by far the best cost saving choice and maintains my needs as well as any of the pre-mixed name brands and powders. I've tried many of the other magnesium supplements on the market and have observed no difference in coral growth and calcification. You save so much mixing your own and with over 10 months of use, my corals continue to calcify at an excellent rate.

I've used straight Mag Chloride for months at a time and also straight Mag Sulfate for months at a time and didn't notice any problems with either route. I have used both parts in my mixture now since it is a more balanced solution. Definitely its a better way to take my Mag levels on check.

I am using this in conjunction with the magnesium sulfate. Packing was great! I mixed 7.5 cups and 3/4 mag sulfate with no sediment. " I mean no sediment" The water was completely clear as stated with means full distribution of mag! This was in 1 gallon of ro water. Thank you for a great product!

If you aren't sure how much you need get more than you think. Half gallon of mag sulfate and half gallon of mag chloride only make 1.5 gallons of solution. use the reef calculator to figure out how much you need. Half a gallon of solution raised my magnesium to acceptable levels. I ran out quick using the small containers.

Very nice product to maintain mag.If you have a large system and and want to raise mag it will take a long time with this reciepe,better for maintaining mag.Also keep in dry climate area,noticed with humidity the calcium chloride will clump together.Good product.
