Great Canister - highly recommend 10" Reverse Osmosis Canister 1/4” Ports By Kenneth on 2/17/13
Kenneth would recommend this product to a friend
I started off by purchasing one to add an extra DI filter to my systems. I was extremely impress with the quality and price of the canister, so much that i ended up by an additional one to add a ChlorPlus 10 Carbon Block Chloramines filter. The canister are high quality and do not see any blemish and they work like a charm. Thanks BRS for having all the parts to help me upgrade my RO/DI system. As well would like to thank you for all the information / videos you provided to make the an easy task. You have a customer for life.

Great quality - add some filter stages By Sean on 11/20/12
Sean would recommend this product to a friend
As good or better quality than my big brand name RODI's factory canisters. No leaks, no blow-by. All components from BRS that should fit together nicely do so ( these, the screws, the shelves, the coupler pieces, etc) to make a nice looking, well functioning system that looks just as good as the factory built portion.
I added 2 more pre-filter stages to make my 5 stage a 7 stage - originally the system used (1) 0.5u sed filter and (1) 0.5u carbon block - The sed filters at 0.5u are expensive and clog quickly. The Carbon blocks - same thing, except if you let your carbon block become exhausted, your RO membrane can be damaged from Chlorine break thru.
I changed the setup to go thru (a) 5u Puritex Sed Filter, (b) 5u Matricx CTO carbon block, (c) 0.6u Puritex Sed Filter, (d) 0.5u Matrikx CTO carbon block.
Now the inexpensive 5u sed and carbon block stages take the brunt of sediment and chlorine, and I change them 3-4 times for each time I change the more expensive 0.6u/0.5u sed/carbon block filters, with the peace of mind of knowing that things are filtered before the booster pump and filtered better before they hit the RO, as well as having double carbon block filters to protect the dual membranes from devastating Chlorine.

Fantastic high quality canisters By Chris on 9/22/12

I just have to say that if you want really high quality canisters or RO/DI systems (since I'm sure they use these canisters) then you can't go wrong with these. Be sure to order 4 screws for them though.
Where I went wrong was trying to get a cheap RO/DI filter system. I figured all those canisters were about the same. Yeah, that's not true. After about two months I awoke to find the bottom of my canister on the floor as it had cracked all the way around the o-ring. When I installed these cheap canisters two of them immediately leaked and I had to really wrench them down to get them to stop leaking around the seal. Of course this probably contributed to the one canister breaking. I can see stress fractures in the other one forming so I knew it was going to go soon. So just don't go to that cheap place on the internet and get junk filters. Start here at BRS.
I just got finished replacing the three canisters and it was so easy. Not one single leak at all period. I didn't have to wrench the canisters down at all. They are just hand tightened and not even as tight as I could go with them.
Another thing I noticed was that the o-ring that came with the BRS canister was a whole lot thicker than my cheap ones and it actually fits perfectly in the o-ring channel. On my cheap one I just noticed that the o-ring seems to be a little big in circumference for where it's supposed to go. No wonder it leaked. Again the BRS o-ring was perfect.
And the canister plastic on the BRS canister was clearer than the cheap one and looks higher quality than the cheap one.
And even the BRS screws were far higher quality and longer than the ones that came on the cheap ones. I think every corner that could have been cut on the cheap ones were cut.
And I bought replacement filters as well. I can also say that I like the BRS filters MUCH better. They also look to be much higher quality than the cheap ones. So basically the only thing I didn't replace is the RO membrane housing and the RO membrane. But I'm now thinking about replacing it. But so far I think it's okay.
So the moral of the story is that you really do get what you pay for. Go for the quality and stay away from the sites selling the cheap RO/DI systems. They do get you started, but you're going to replace them sooner rather than later. And pay more than you would have if you had just bought it from BRS to start with.
Oh, one last note... I bought some of the MUR-LOK fittings from BRS and they are much higher quality than my cheap ones and are even higher quality than the ones I picked up at Lowe's. With the MUR-LOK fittings I have to use a tool to pull the tubing out, but with the others I can just use my fingers to push up and pull the tubing out. So it makes me question how long they are going to hold compared to the MUR-LOK ones.

Connecting the murloc to it was easy as screwing anything else in, although when i got it tight enough the murloc broke and i was stuck with the male in the inlet. BRS does not sell just the lid so im suck buying another one. Wasnt too happy with that.

Crystal Clear By Ethan on 2/10/12
Ethan would recommend this product to a friend
This canister works great for a media reactor. The large ports allow for lots of flow, and the clear plastic is ultra heavy duty. Compared to other manufacturers canisters, the clarity is better, the plastic is thicker, and the gasket lasts longer when properly lubricated. If you are looking for a replacement canister for a media reactor or RO system, you won't find better.

good for RO/DI resin, not good if you have tight space By Joe on 3/19/11
Joe would recommend this product to a friend
I got this to run the Nuclear grade color resin and it was great since my RO/DI system is in the garage with good space to unscrew the cap for maintenance. However, I bought another one to run my active carbon and it's a pain to unscrew the cap in tight space in my cabinet.

This is a great way to upgrade your existing RO system. I had a 3 stage RO system without DI, with this product I was able to add DI without having to upgrade the entire system.
