I first bought this glue awhile ago and have more on its way. It is easy to work with. The needle in the lid is a great addition and help avoid clogging. The only problem I had was because apparently I'm a little dense. After using half of the bottle I got frustrated because I couldn't squeeze the bottle enough to get more out. I stomped around awhile talking to myself about how it was so poorly designed. I then watched my wife use the ketchup bottle to get the last bit out. I sheepishly went back to the glue and smacked it down with its lid on and was able to continue using it.

This glue went on easy and held well. I bought one bottle and one tube to try both out. My personal preference was the bottle since I thought it was a bit easier to control, but your mileage may vary.
Pretty good By shawn on 1/13/2015

Works well most of the time. Occasionally have to reapply. If a frag doesn't stick you can break the haze that immediately forms over glue and expose clear glue for a second or third try before having to reapply.
good for frag plugs, bad for attach directly to the rock By MG on 1/12/2015

This glue works great if you are fragging out the water but if you want to glue coral directly into the rockscape better use the ecotech one, this glue doesn't hold the corals very well.

The BRS extra thick gel itself gets 5 stars! It is exceptional! The containers need redesign. I have always used the bottles for years and would recommend going with it. But the bottle gets really hard to use when there is 20% left in it. No problem, I gave the tube a try. It was even worse. The first day of fragging the tube worked great! But a week later, the tip was clogged and unusable. So I was forced to use it coming out of the tube itself, which caused way too much glue to be used.
So in short I highly recommend the gel itself, and would suggest the bottle, but they need to find a more flexible bottle that is easy to squeeze and use all of the product. I would not recommend the tube to anyone unless they are gluing 100+ frags in one sitting.

As good as any other thick gel but better value. Bottle doesn't clog.
Greate Value By mm.Reefs on 12/11/2014

Greate Quality/Value. This glue is perfect for mounting frags to plugs outside of water. For underwater use you should use more than other brands and the surfaces should have some porosity for it to stick to more efectively. Fair buy for the value.
Sticks to everything even underwater By Tek on 11/25/2014

It is thick and has good holding power. I was able to glue frags to rocks, overflows, back glass. Even a large 5" X 6" acro colony stuck to the side of a rock.
I will recommend this extra thick version over the regular gel glue.

Took a little longer to dry then I hoped. But it did do the job. Just make sure the pieces you are glueing are dry. I took a hair dryer to mine for a few seconds. Then handled them carefully for about 2-3 minutes.
Thick, but not Super. By Randy on 11/16/2014

Wasn't impressed by this glue. The "bang-for-buck" is there, but once this glue hits water, it's done for. Would not adhere frag plugs to rock work. Probably great for other non-reef related applications.

+Tried using this glue to attach dry live rock together. It failed to bond the rock even after a prolonged period. On top of that, there is no pin or device to keep the nozzle clean on the bottle type so ended up tossing it. Fortunately I had a tube of bsi ic-gel that came with a fragging kit I bought and this glue did work and the cap contains a prong that keeps the tube spout open. BRS has some great products but not this one.

This stuff is super thick and perfect for adhering every type of coral to frag plugs and live rock. I use this in conjunction with purple reef epoxy to glue my frags to rockwork. You really can't beat the value of this product! It lasts a long time with regular usage. I feel like I glue a lot of frags to my rockwork and cut a few frags a month and it lasts me 4 months easily.

Put it on rock or frag plug out of the water and place it quickly in tank and don't move for a few seconds and it will hold. Apply under water you have to move plug back and forth to break bubble then hold for a minute. Great glue

Payed twice as much for the SEACHEM REEF GLUE on amazon thinking it would be fine for a few small applications. WRONG. Had some horrible experiences trying to glue small frags into place. Taking 4-5 tries, getting glue all over the place, having it dry everywhere but the place where I needed it to. Had chunks all over the tank. Shrimp got it on his hands. Glue got on polyps. Tube cracked and ended up with glue all over my hands for weeks. Not re-usable since it doesn't seal fully after the first time you open it. Come on, you had one job...
The brs thick gel from the bottle was delightful to use. Pulled it out and glued precisely in minutes. No issues with sticking to things I didn't want it to. QUICK setting. At the low cost I am once again extremely satisfied with the care that BRS takes on all the products they stamp their name on. Stuff just works.
Don't worry about looking anywhere else, just buy a couple and call it a day!

I used this on some recent zoanthid frags. Worked amazing! The glue set in about 10 seconds and was able to put in the tank right away. Highly recommend this glue for all your propagation needs. Adheres to rock and rubble as well as the frag disks with ease.

Put it on rock or frag plug out of the water and place it quickly in tank and dont move for a few seconds and it will hold. Don't apply under water cuz it instantly gets a white haze coating and wont stick. I used the tube and would buy again.

I bought both the bottle and the tube and prefer the tube over the bottle. Both work well and are by no means runny... the glue stays where you put it.

I bought the Extra Thick 20g tube. Fairly disappointed. I had previously used Ecotech Coral Glue. This glue was slow to bond, and, as soon as it hit the water, a film develops on the glue surface and it makes it difficult for the glue to then settle into holes, or to grip onto any surface. Normally, CG will develop a film when it hits the water, but the glue underneath that film is still active. This glue, I would poke with my finger to smear it on to a rock, and it wouldn't even stick to my finger. Ecotech's you can't touch because it has so much adhesive force. I suppose you get what you pay for. If using OUTSIDE of the tank, this works just fine. However, if using in the water, I would venture to the Ecotech brand. Nothing against BRS, I love their stuff. This glue just has its place in the reef.
