I am a die hard RowaPhos user that has been in the hobby for years (before coral had names that seemd more fit for stuff I bought in college than something I put in my fish tank). Anyway, I decided to give this a try because the Rowa product is, bu far, the biggest hassle to swap out of any of my routine. First impression, the stuff was much, much easier to set up in the reactor. Second impression, the stuff seems every bit as good at keeping my phosphates down (0). Third impression, I'm sold. Its that easy. I donk usejunk when it comes to the tens of thousands of dollars I have invested in my system. This stuff is as good as any GFO I've experienced.

I was skeptical as to the performance advertized but after one week the algae growth , red and green was reduced more than half and the red was flaking off i sheets and were easy to remove .

I'm very happy with this product. It rinses clean quickly and does what it's supposed to do. This is comparable to other high quality brands, but at a slightly lower price (I wish it could be just a little lower or get a little more). I'll buy more in the future.

Not the cheapest stuff, but it definately works well. Picked up the smallest container of the high cap. GFO to see how I like it, and I love it. Really helped reduce po4 which is helping to kill off the hair algae outbreak currently plaguing my tank.
Running in the BRS reactor. Will definately purchase more

This GFO works just as claimed. It's a nice small size comparable to ROX0.8 carbon, which makes plumping the reactors a little easier since both media's tumble at similar rates so you can use the same pump and flow rate. It's very effective at phosphate removal and the media lasts much longer then any other GFO I have tried. It can cause a drop in pH, so introduce to your system slowly to prevent any issues if just beginning use.
I have noticed that it won't drop phosphate levels as drastically as some other types of media I have used, but the tradeoff is that those other media's expire much quicker. The BRS HC GFO works great as a long term maintenance solution once you have phosphates to a controllable level.

In MHO all GFO is overpriced, which is why it only got three stars for value. It took my phosphates from .12 to .04 (Hanna) in one week. Very pleased with the performance of this GFO.

This stuff is great! It is 1st time I've been running GFO but this product is awesome. I have let things go for a while so had pretty high phosphates once I finally checked. Close to 0.5. Within 3 days of putting this stuff on line they are down to 0.09. Will see what happens in a week.

I tried the normal GFO and didnt like it as much as this product. H GFO didnt release a lot of dust in my tank and drop my po4 fast with half of the amount I suppose to put in as normal GFO.

It is defiantly denser then the regular gfo. Price wise it is twice as expensive. It works good and removes phosphates. Does it do it better then the regular, Probably. I dont know how well, i can only assume brs did the research for me and i am assuming they are right.

A little goes a long way. Mixed this with ROX 0.8 Carbon (so GFO won't stick together), put into fine mesh bag, and used it like that until I received GFO reactor. Actually got good result's that way.

I've been using this stuff for about a year now and since starting I've noticed my corals coloring up and growing better. I was having an algae out break. Did some large water changes and started running GFO...no more algae. Been using it since.

I have been fighting high phoshates, the LFS product helped but I could rinse it for over an hour and still get fines. This product was passing clear water in under 30 seconds. The price is also a lot cheaper compared to the LFS who sell the standard GFO for more per volume than BRS high capacity GFO. My phosphates are dropping faster with the deluxe brs reactor, compared to just floating a bag. My coral are starting to glow and my macro algae is showing some really deep color.

I was having a hard time deciding between regular GFO and HGFO mainly because of price. The reef calculator helped me decide. I could avoid using a jumbo reactor with the HGFO which saves me space. After using this for two weeks my phosphates were at 0. That's down from 2ppm. Excellent product.

I have a 1000 gallon tank. Heavy Bio load, I like feeding and I do weekly water changes and use RO-DI water but the PO4 levels were always high until I bought my BRS single chamber reactor and started using GFO- High Capacity Ferric Oxide.

When your ready to setup your GFO reactor's performance this product will not let you down. I have this running in my Deluxe GFO reactor with MAXIJEt 1200. IMO BRS's recommendations are the best choice. Watch the videos on BRS, they are awesome.

I had high phosphates around 1. This is the first gfo I have used and based on my present experience and those of others, I won't be changing anytime soon. That goes for the gfo as well which holds up well and the water out of the reactor is still less than the tank itself after 2 weeks. Keep in mind this is the first time I ran a phosphate remover in the 6 years of the tank. The hc gfo is great for these situations where there is real severe phosphate problems. It does great in a single reactor and perfect if your tank is under 125 gallons. With the regular gfo and lets say a 150 you would have to go with brs' jumbo reactor. I wish it was cheaper but you get what you pay for.

This stuff really works my phosphate was at 0.83 and it dropped it over night to 0.24 that is really a sign that this product really works. I have used other products and nothing ever came close to this. A little expensive but this goes to show you you get what you pay for!!!!

Now that my tank is established and I'm slowly introducing different livestock I noticed that the zoanthids stopped opening up. I read online and the blogs were saying that high phosphate levels in the water would stop the zoanthids from opening. I purchased 3.5 Pounds Bulk GFO High Capacity Ferric Oxide and a reactor from BRS and within a week of having the GFO filtering the water the Zoanthids started to open. Now a month later the Zoas are in full bloom and look amazing.

I have used many GFO products, and this one seems to hold its own. I do not have to change the media in my reactor nearly as often to keep low phosphate levels in my tank with this product. Buy in bulk and save!
