Been running this GFO in a BRS reactor for a month now. Works great and keeps my phosphate at near zero. No more algae problems.

I was looking for something to help with my saltwater algae problem and decided to try this and I have been extremely happy so far. I will say that I will be trying the higher capacity next because the space needed in a reactor is is greater in the standard GFO.

I got this GFO for my BRS reactor due to a hair algae problem I was having. After adding this and a lawnmower blenny within a week all my hair algae was gone! Works great!

Perfect GFO. I use this product in conjunction with skimming, carbon dosing (pellets and sometimes biofuel) and carbon with great results. My parameters stay in range, and the recommended starter amounts seem to work well for most applications.

GFO has kept my Phosphates low. Easy to use and inexpensive!

I can honestly say gfo has made my life easier. Without it, I'd probably have to do 2 water changes a week with my desire to feed as often as I do. I'd never have a tank without gfo in a reactor.

Nice value for GFO. Not as nice as the uniform spherical GFO you get with other premium brands, thus may not fluidize quite as easily, but gets the job done.

I was still having an issue with phosphates running Phosban, upgraded to the GFO reactor and haven't detected phosphates in my weekly tests again!

What can I say? Same product I'm paying premium price for in my local fish store at a much lower price. I didn't even notice the switch when it comes to water quality. Should have bought this earlier.

I run this product in my reactor and every time I test for phosphate, it reads 0. Works as advertised

My PO was at .36 and within 48 hours of using this stuff, it drop down to .08. Still have a little more to go, but am happy with the results!

This is every bit as good as any other product on the market. I had been using phosban for years and decided to try this 6 months ago. well after 6 months phosphates are testing 0. What makes this more appealing is the price and quantity you get. There is nothing else like this in the market!

Bought the granular (the cheaper of the 2) GFO's that BRS offers. I ran it in a Nextreef MR1 reactor and used the recommended amount from the BRS Reef calculator for GFO. It lasted 4 weeks (with heavy fish/coral bio-load). Phosphates dropped from 2.0 to 0.0 overnight. It stayed for about 3-4 weeks and began to creep back up so I removed it and increased the amount. Hoping to get 6 weeks out of it. I recently purchased the high capacity because I think it'll be a better fit for my system.

Follow the instructions and watch your Po4 drop!

Within a few weeks my aquariums algae is almost completely gone!! It doesn't even seem to build up on the glass as much as it used too.

overall product is good, bulk quatity makes it a great value. be carefull not to use to much to fast. been using for consistantly for a year then didnt change for month. Changed out a big portion, caused a few sps to completely bleach so be carefull

this has to be one of the best purchases I have made for my tank. It helped me defeat an algae outbreak and i have used it since.

In terms of the quantity of phosphate removed, this GFO performs very well. I use it actively in a BRS reactor and had zero problems. However, it does produce more fines when initially flushing the media, and from what I've read, the high capacity stuff holds up better during regeneration because it is more dense.

Does what it has to do. Order big size.

About 1/3rd the price of brand name. Works great.

Hey Fellow reef enthusiasts - I have a 29 gal Bio-Cube reef system with HQI - that has an overflow to sump, and heavy filtration. My tank is very clear all the time, but I was still having minor issues with some brown algae here and there. Immediately and within days of starting to use the GFO in a non conventional reactor chamber, using about 1/2 a pound of the GFO in a mesh bag - I immediately noticed that my algea break out issues went away... My tank was clear of all algae and has been since then. This brings me to two days ago. I decided to do some maintenance and I un-plugged my pump to the GFO chamber (due to time constraints and a partial issue that needed attending)... I set aside the project for the next day... Unfortunately, two days have passed. I noticed some brown algae the next day - then by the second day - my tank was almost brown. I was like freaking out - I then, realized what had changed, and that I hadn’t completed my GFO maintenance - What a Maroon! is all I have to say!!!!!... Well, I have replaced the GFO with a fresh batch, re-connected the reactor and within two hours of re-connecting it, I could already tell the difference. I love this product - it’s expensive, but well worth it. I can’t live without it. I will be ordering more. I am also going to be adding some to a home made fluidized chamber, plus to the high flow area of my sump - I will report again on any further changes. Don’t go without it. This stuff is worth every penny.

Brought my phosphates down considerably. Easy to wash.

Definitely does the job. I find the granules produce less “dust” than the pellets. Rinsing the media with RO water to start does a good job at clearing the material of dust before introducing it into the system.

After using this product I have seen the a
Gae accumulation on my glass drastically decrease...no more scrubbing of the glass everyday.

You can't go wrong with this gfo great price and great quality but I expect nothing less from brs ! This gfo rinses much quicker then other gfo that I have used and I get the same high end stuff as the big names .AAA+++++
