Having started with SW in the dark ages and then coming back to it alot has changed and gfo is certainly a great product. I had been battling dino's for a few weeks. Within 24 hrs of starting with gfo I noticed a immediate reduction in dinos to almost complete elimination in less than a week.

Great product. My first purchase of this product was exceptional in all ways, but my recent purchase was less than desireable. The 5 gallon container had GFO all over the outside of the plastic bucket and in the bottom of the shipping box.

I'm running 1.5 cups in the dual reactor for 200 gallons, which is half of what the BRS calculator recommends. The reactor can't handle much more per cartridge and still keep things flowing. I change it every two weeks, rather than use 3 cups and change monthly. So far so good with this system.

Eventually I want to get a separate reactor for carbon and then just run 1.5 cups in each side of the dual reactor, but the system is working so far for me.

I used this in a filter sock and reactor, i recommend the reactor. Anyway, this stuff is great, it eats right through phosphates. No more algae!

Does what it should. My only complaint is the particle size, as it can work through the sponges in your reactor. Makes setting the flow a bit tricky. I would suggest starting with a little less than the recommended amount by the BRS calculator. GFO can and does release Iron into your system, so use only what you need. Saves your system from Iron (HARD to get back out) and your wallet, at the same time! Also, I run one gallon of tank water through my reactor, to rinse, when I change it out. Helps a lot with the fines.

I've used this for years, and I highly recommend it, for its phosphate reduction. I have no choice, but to use unfiltered well water, and this works great to reduce phosphates, in my 75 gallon, and 120 gallon reef tanks. I have a clam, anemones, and sps in the tank, all growing great.

I was having problems with GHA, though my Nitrates and Phosphates tested in the '0' range. Upon addition of GFO, I noticed a reduction in the algae. It would no longer return when I physically removed it. It didn't happen overnight, but the reduction was obvious. I put about 4 OZ in a bag in the sump and replace every several months. It's part of my routine maintenance.

hey this stuff is great. it lasts forever and keeps my po4 really low. just make sure you use the calculator for your tank and then keep an eye on it. this stuff can really strip your nutrients out.

Good price for the 1 gal container. Media run through a BRS reactor keeps my phospates at 0ppm. Just flush the fresh media with ~1 gal or less RO water until it runs clear to get rid of the "dust", then ready to roll.
