For a reactor, i say this product it pretty good. But as far as the "Granular" type is concerned i WOULD NOT put it in a filter sock. I thought since it was a 200 micron sock id be fine, well as far as the media making its way back into the tank it was ok but i guess from the water beating on it, it turned my water a awful brown even though i had rinsed it prior to putting it in my tank. Stick to the pellets....

This GFO lasts me approximately 3 months on my 220 gallon system. It keeps phosphates below .03 tested on a hanna meter. I would definitely recommend.

This product works great. I installed a BRS reactor and am using GFO "Granular" and within 48 hours reduced my phosphates greatly. I have found a great company in BRS, quick shipment as advertised. This company BFS and there products were recommended by an employee of a local aquarium store, he told me is the best he has seen and uses it at home, instead of what they sell.

After using this product for about a week month, my phosphates levels dropped to undetectable levels using the Hanna Checker. After about a month of using 1/2 cup of GFO in a BRS reactor for my 50gallon tank, the phosphate level started to raise - time to change replace. Product works as advertised. Using less product and getting better results than Phosguard.

This stuff really works and if you adjust your reactor properly per BRS' instructions, you will have no problem with "fines" getting into your tank. Phosphates don't stand a chance against this media!

Great price and value . I use it in My duel reactor and it works great . I get about a year out of a 2.5 # container . I use carbon every other Month in second chamber . Filter could have a larger diamater so it can hold the carbon down .

Went from .22 to 0 ppm in a matter of days this stuff works! It can get stuck in the chamber ever once and a while. When it does I have to up the pressure to blow it around a bit so the tumble and restart, but I'm okay with this little step.

I bought this when I bought my brs dual reactor because money was tight. It lasted about 3 months, If I would have had the money I would have bought the 2 pound jug. It got me going and I saw a huge differance in the amount of algae on my glass. It works great and I'm hooked. If you want less phosphates and a cleaner glass and overall aquarium run this stuff from the best company in the biz.. Way to go BRS all your products are great and awesomely priced. GFO is expensive to start with, but Bulkreefsupply is the best price I have found on the web. Very fine and tumbles easily. Works great to lower phosphate.

So I bought the BRS GFO Reactor and MJ 1200 (don't get me started on that piece) and set everything up. As I was setting it all up, I had someone else test my Phosphate levels which were .39 ppm. That night, because it was a new test kit, I tried out the test kit myself and the levels were .19 ppm. I was sure then that the other person just didn't use the kit correctly because this isn't supposed to be an immediate cure or anything. The next morning I tested again and the phosphate levels are 0.00 ppm. This stuff is great. I should have bought more so I wouldn't have to come back a few months to replenish my supply.

I used the HC in the BRS reactor in my 85 gal tank. Though it did take almost all my algae away it was hard to dial in the reactor with the HC. I was constantly having to dial it in. It could have been user error however i currently use the Precision Marine reverse reactor with the Granuller and it works great on my 185.
