I've used this for years, and I highly recommend it, for its phosphate reduction. I have no choice, but to use unfiltered well water, and this works great to reduce phosphates, in my 75 gallon, and 120 gallon reef tanks. I have a clam, anemones, and sps in the tank, all growing great.

notice less algae on the glass. the particles are fine and i gave it a little to much juice the first time and gfo was all over my sump and display.. so low flow through the reactor!!

I was having problems with GHA, though my Nitrates and Phosphates tested in the '0' range. Upon addition of GFO, I noticed a reduction in the algae. It would no longer return when I physically removed it. It didn't happen overnight, but the reduction was obvious. I put about 4 OZ in a bag in the sump and replace every several months. It's part of my routine maintenance.

Used in conjunction with BRS upflow media reactor, I use a little under a cup on my 90 gallon tank and with a light tumble, my phosphates check out at 0 using my electronic phosphate tester. Great for the money!

hey this stuff is great. it lasts forever and keeps my po4 really low. just make sure you use the calculator for your tank and then keep an eye on it. this stuff can really strip your nutrients out.

I started running BRS GFO about 1 year ago during a hair algae outbreak, and within a month, that problem was gone. Paired with the BRS reactor, and a monthly change of GFO, I haven't seen a strand of the green stuff since. It's a much more rewarding hobby when our tank is the envy of your fellow reefers!

Good price for the 1 gal container. Media run through a BRS reactor keeps my phospates at 0ppm. Just flush the fresh media with ~1 gal or less RO water until it runs clear to get rid of the "dust", then ready to roll.
