i had tried all kinds of carbon, but so far rox is the best. my tank look sooooo much crystal clear within 24 hrs. the price is a little high but the quality is totally worth it.

Performance is great, just like the video states as well as anyone else has used it. And for the price it's really a steal. I only change it out once a month and my water stays crystal clear, I could probably go longer. My only gripe with it is that the media consists of very thin "sticks" of carbon, just like the pellet stuff you are used to but much smaller. This makes it a little hard to work with, especially once it's wet, because it becomes a soup like consistency that sticks to everything, plus some floats while some sinks. Rinsing the media then getting it into a reactor isn't nearly as simple as the regular pellets, but it's doable. I've also had to change out the sponge in my reactor for filter floss to keep the ROX0.8 from getting into my sump and display.
Overall, a small price to pay for the performance. I still use it and would recommend to anyone.

This is the cleanest carbon I have ever used. Very little dust when you rinse, unlike other carbon that never seems to rinse clear. Worth the few extra bucks.

I've been using carbon from the LFS. This is a far superior product. I didn't have to rinse this carbon forever prior to placing it in my tank like the less expensive/lower quality products from the LFS. Also, no carbon fine in my sump. Instantly noticeable improvement of tank water also. You don't realize how yellow your tank water is until you use this product. Great value. This size container will last for 6+ months in my 110 gal. tank.

I had to get use to the very odd shape of this Carbon to start with. Once loaded into the BRS filter, it performed very well. Cleared my water quickly. I highly recommend.

ROX raises the bar and leaves all other carbon in the dust. Until you use this product personally, you truly have no idea what carbon is capable of. I am absolutely amazed. With ROX, you can stop using other costly products like Purigen. Don't get me wrong, Purigen has it's uses but if you have been using it for yellow removal, Rox will take care of that!

I recently did a water change before I started running this carbon and the water I took out of the tank was considerably more yellow than the freshly mixed water going into the tank. After running this carbon for a week I did a water change and there was hardly a difference in the old and new water. Really cleared the water up nice.

I had been using the usual Floss/Purigen/Chemipure combo in my nano for a year. Works okay but over time can get needlessly costly. So, finally pulled the trigger on the BRS ROX 0.8 carbon and their bulk GFO. Three tablespoons of each in a 200 micron bag. Replace the carbon every two weeks, GFO 4 weeks. No, I don't have a skimmer or reactor.
Must say the water clarity is astounding. I mean it appears there's no water in the tank.. Algae on glass is nearly non-existent and my cyano issue has shrunk. At the risk of this posting suspiciously sounding like ironic hyperbole, I'd say I'm a happy convert.

Finally got to running carbon in a Phosban reactor and this stuff rox. Very little needs to be used as stated in online description and I can definitely see the difference to the water clarity.

This stuff is great! It is 1st time I've been running GFO but this product is awesome. I have let things go for a while so had pretty high phosphates once I finally checked. Close to 0.5. Within 3 days of putting this stuff on line they are down to 0.09. Will see what happens in a week.

I didnt even rinse the carbon and it release no dust at all. Unlike other carbon my skimmer will skim out a ton of black stuff after i put it in the system this thing is so clean. Love it

I cannot stress enough before you hook up your new carbon/GFO reactor, check the reef calculator (for both the carbon and the GFO) I wasn't sure how much to add so I filled the container ~ 1/2 way full when I was only supposed to use 4 tbsp ! This stuff really goes a long way provided you don't waste it. And be advised to watch the videos; The carbon isn't supposed to tumble (at all) and the GFO is supposed to tumble only the slightest bit. There's a You Tube of a guy setting up the Carbon/GFO reactor and he made same mistakes I did at first so check the reef calculator prior to dosing. (Great stuff though, my tank has never been healthier! My ricordia are ~2" across!

Like everyone else says, this stuff is good. HOWEVER, be very carful if using a reactor like the 2LF phosban reactor. The foam sponge filters will not stop this from getting in your display tank!!!! as far as carbon goes, these granules are very small...

This carbon is much smaller pellets than most carbon on the market I have seen. I can imagine that is a good thing with the added surface area. Make sure you have a filter bag / sponge that will trap this stuff thou.

The ROX carbon works well enough in my reef tank when used in a media reactor. If your tank is already in decent shape (ie. no major problem with discoloration/cloudiness, or heavy bio-load) I would recommend just getting the Lignite carbon. I could not see the value in this carbon over any other quality carbon. (If I'm going to pay double for a product, I expect it to work twice as well. Another problem with the ROX is how fine it is. As stated above, it can only be used in a media reactor. (I do recommend the BRS reactor! :) I have a freshwater cichlid tank that uses power filters. The ROX carbon can not be used in any of the flow through cartridges in my filters. It washes through the filter and dumps into my tank.
To wrap up. If you have a dirty tank that has a media reactor. I recommend the ROX. With a fairly clean tank or to just maintain already clear water, save your money and go with the lignite.

This is great stuff. I can't believe how small it is and how little I have to use. I think 1.5 pounds might be a lifetime supply for my tanks! I also appreciate the fact that there is almost zero dust with it so all it needs is a very quick rinse.
