The ROX carbon is a bit more expensive than the pellet and granular form but well worth the expense. Just be sure to watch the flow rate going through your reactor to insure that you don't shoot the media through your sponges and in to your sump. If you want crystal clear water this is a great help though!!

This is the best carbon I have ever used compared to the carbon I previously used. There is almost no dust in this and it seems to last longer. The small size of the granules and the added efficiency of using it in a reactor allows you to use considerably less than you might require with other carbon. The superb quality of this product makes it well worth the extra few dollars.

Low end carbon can actually release phosphates back into the water. Best to pay a little bit more for the good stuff! BRS is the only place I trust!

The quality of the carbon cannot be disputed. It is the best on the market (in my experience).

However, in a canister filter I do not see sufficient difference between this and the BRS large Particle Carbon to justify the price differential.

If cost is not an issue, then its a no-brainer: buy the ROX

I run this in my BRS reactor and love it. Takes only a few seconds to get to run clear and ready for my sump. I did not think my water had a tint as it was clear. However after running this for a few days in the BRS reactor which I love, I can see a difference in clarity. My water did not need it but the added crispness is amazing. who knew it could get better.

Between a 125 gallon Saltwater reef, A 28 gallon all in one saltwater, and a 230 gallon freshwater tank. I have not found a better carbon to use across the board. I buy it once and use it everywhere. It seems to last as long as it says and it works well in the reactors I use.

I've tried various kinds of carbon, ones that are made from coconut husk, environmentally friendly and somehow.. the BRS Rox carbon was the last. I have to say this one is the best because
a) Works the longest
b) doesn't get clogged in the reactor as easily as others
c) does not bulk up and keeps the water crystal clear
d) Considering the cost, this one turns out to be quite economical.

1 tablespoon per gallon, didn't even dent my jar of carbon when i filled up the first time

I have been using this carbon, it is doing its job. My 90 gallon is sparkling clear. The only issue is due to its size, it gets into the screen filter for the reactor. It is hard to clean it out. Luckily I don't have to replace it as frequently as before.
