This tip is fantastic. I got rid of my old salt incrusted glass top for this low profile screen top in which my Tek light can penetrate deeply into my tank to increase the growth of my coral. Thanks BRS for the great tip!

I purchased this product with the intensions of making two tops for my main display tank. I liked the product so much I have also made tops for my refugium and frag tanks. The netting allows for great light penetration while keeping the tank inhabitants in. I used this with window screen supplies from my local hardware store. Makes for a finished and professional looking installation.

I love this screen netting! I used egg crate till I saw the video on how to make your own screen cover. Very durable material as well- my curious cats have jumped on top of the cover with no issues. Will be purchasing again for my new tank.
Works well, strong By Vlad on 3/11/12

The material is a bit clearer than the picture shows. It's strong, and it was easy to stretch it over the screen. The 1/2" size seems good; I don't see how any fish could jump through.

This product is now on all my tanks. Easy project that allows for maximum light penetration and keeps salt creep to a minimum.

I bought a roll of this screen to keep my fishes and big roaches out of my tank. It's easy to make a frame and this 1/4" screen is worth the buck. I recommend it to anyone with an aquairum that doesn't want just a plastic lid over their tank that reduces lighting.
Good stuff, But... By BUG on 2/21/12

The mesh spacing was not 1/2" on the entire sheet, kind of like a run in the plastic. I had to cut around those imperfect parts. But overall strong and durable.

Keeps my fish in the tank and doesn't interfere with the lights. Only problem I've had is that it needed to be replaced after 1.5 yrs or so since it started to rip directly under my metal halides, so it does get brittle with age.

Easy DIY project. Really cut down the heat in my tank while keeping the fish from jumping out.

Having tired of a full glass top I wanted an open screening that wouldn't block light, heat, or me trying to get into the tank! This is it. The one neg. would be that the hole spacing is not even in the netting.

I purchased this netting and made a tank cover as shown in the video. Looks great and gives me piece of mind that my Jawfish won't become a crispy carpet cracker.

This stuff is perfect been looking for a long time for something like this that I could build a top to tank with and not block the light from getting through any. Now I can finally put in a few fish that I have wanted to but couldnt before since they jump out of the tank. This stuff is perfect and you get plenty I still have a ton left over
Great replacement for eggcrate tops By Cory on 9/19/11

This is a better solution than eggcrate since it lets more light in. Took about 25 minutes to install tops on a 120 gallon.

Great product that you can not find at a hardware store, keeps my wrasse from jumping out of cage, made full top for 75 gallon tank and nori feeder and had plenty left over. Also great for not trapping heat in tank like glass top covers
Safety First By SlappyNC1 on 7/31/11

This netting works as advertised and is an excellent means of keeping fish in, light through, but letter heat out (unlike covers). You shoudl note however that in a year's time this netting becomes very brittle and breaks easily after being subjected to the heat of metal halide lighting. That aside, being able to keep "jumpers" (like wrasses) safely in the tank is well worth it.
Screen tops and Lighting go hand-in-hand By Fishman on 7/18/11

Screen netting and lighting go hand in hand. Allow 100% light into your aquarium. Glass refracts the light as the tank loses light intensity.
