I've ordered these socks twice now. I use them for my reef tank and Trigger Systems sump. I trade out my socks every other day. Their wonderful, and you'll be amazed how much they clean your water! I have been using these for a while but my new ones that i just receive seem to be a little different than the ones I have received in the past. These have more a a rough exterior verses the felt exterior of the ones in the past that would break down after a few washes in the washing machine. These are great traping debris flwoing into them.

Ordered one, wish I ordered more. Unbelievable the gunk in the sock. Once again, BRS has quality items that really do the job and great price. For this price buy a few that way you can change them out easier. Easy to wash in the washer, hot or cold, no detergent and dry in dryer.

This product seems to be what BRS is all about. Excellent quality at affordable prices. When they are in stock my LFS charges more than twice what BRS does. The only caution I should repeat is to wash before using. I'm aware one should always do that to remove any suspected chemicals from the manufacturing or handling processes of new items. I neglected to do this and my skimmer went nuts when I first installed the sock. It calmed down after 10 minutes and no tank inhabitants were harmed due to my negligence.

I'm adding more of these to my next order.

I have bought a number of spare filter socks for my sump so I always have a few spares. I wash the dirty ones in the washing machine by using the cold cycle, adding bleach and then making sure any bleach is inactivated by rinsing with plenty of Seachem Prime. Well constructed and half the price compared to my LFS

This sock traps the detritus great. But after only a few weeks the thread at the bottom started becoming unraveled. I guess I'm going to have to sew over it to keep it from coming completely apart. Maybe I just got a bad one that slipped through quality control. Sucks that its doing this but as we all know, nothing is perfect.

Keep a few of these on hand and simply wash them in the washing machine inside out with my other aquarium towels with nothing but bleach, then let the socks air dry. They come out looking like brand new and have survived a lot of washings now.

I was very surprised at the huge difference these filter socks made in the quality of my water.These filter socks have captured gunk I didnt even know was in my tank and the increased water clarity shows. I would order at least two pair so they can be swapped out easily while the dirty pair is being cleaned. These are highly durable as I have washed mine in the washer several times now.

There isn't much to say here, other than these things work. I change them out every other day and they it's surprising how much junk they pull out of the water.

I bought enough of them so I don't have to wash them until the end of the week. Just make sure you put them in a bucket if you aren't going to wash them right away because even if you rinse them out after removal, they stink.

I have a pile of these since I am bringing a long neglected tank back to life. These stop all algae, food bits, worms, hydroids, etc. So I scrap things off every so often and let the overflow feed all the crap to these. Just remember to change them or whatever you collect will just breakdown and pollute your tank again.

Equivalant filter socks at LFS's in my area run $12-$15, this is a 1/3 the price and they perform excellent. When they get dirty I fold them inside out and wash them in the the washing machine with no soap and I add bleach. They clean up great and can be reused over an over. I haven't had any long enough to have any wear out so I don't know how many washing they can hold up to yet.

Fits well in my sump. Filters very tiny particles out of the water. Clogs more quickly than the mesh socks. Can be cleaned by turning inside out and spraing with garden hose a few times before replacing. Mine are lasting about three weeks (cleaning weekly) before I have to replace them.

Stiff plastic ring and two inner grab handles. These are the stiffer more "s.o.s." pad material filter. Its great to have these on hand, so i can always keep some socks in, as opposed to washing and waiting, leaving my mechanical filter out... I might even buy more!! Great value!
