I wanted to try and drill my own aquarium, I was EXTREMELY nervous about drilling my own holes in the tanks & now I don't know why everyone freaks out!
I drilled a 10 Gallon aquarium for practice and first time, I drilled two holes in under five minutes. I should have gone slower cause I got chips, but it was practice.
I'm surprised that its so easy to drill glass, anyone can do it, its as easy as drilling a hole in the wood, Just slower and you must have a coolant, like running water. If your hesitating to drill your own glass I would buy the drill press that BRS sells, but if you have experience with a drill & hole saws, you should be able to knock this out of the park no problem.
Plus the Quality & Price of BRS, just sweetens the deal.

Was very nervous about drilling through glass but followed the video and it worked out. Patience is a must when drilling, let the drill do the work, do not push down.

I was relieved when I found this size drill bit online for a decent price. I have been leaving it up to local fish stores to drill my aquariums and the cost was adding up. Bought clay to entrap the water and a guide to make sure I didn't mar the aquarium. Took roughly 10 minutes per tank using an underpowered drill. Very happy with the results.

Found this bit here on BRS and it was much cheaper than many other places, even cheaper than auction sites. I used this bit to drill 2 holes in 1/4in thick glass with no problems at all. Highly recommended!

I tried to figure out myself which bit to go with and was having trouble figuring out the size and got sick of trying to figure it out, so I called BRS and talked to them over the phone and they gave me all the info I needed on getting this bite and it worked perfect. love the customer service and products here!

I ordered this bit and wasn't really sure if I could drill my tank. After all, I have a used 200 gallon custom glass tank with 1/2" glass of an unknown type. I really had planned on destroying the end panel on my tank and drilling a new piece of glass. It didn't go that way. It went fantastic. It took me about 9 minutes each to drill two holes in my tank. I used a high speed air drill, very light pressure, and a helper with a hose to keep the glass cold. Heat is the enemy of doing anything with glass.... it causes stress. As a avid DIY'er, I have always wanted to get a glass drill bit, but they always seemed too expensive to buy as my glass shop only charged 10 dollars to drill a hole for me. When I saw the price on these, I said What the heck! The bit looks cheap but it worked just fine. Now when I need a hole for a new project, it is great not to have to lug the tank down to the shop to get it drilled. Thanks once again BRS you guys rock!

Great product. Drilled 3 holes in my 75 gallon (1/4" thick glass) with no problem. Had an extra piece of 1/4" around and drilled 2 more just for the heck of it and still no hesitation to complete the task. Took me a little longer on the last hole, but the finish was just as smooth as the others.

Worked great for drilling the tanks. I used two different sizes one for 1.5 bulkheads and one for .5 bulkheads. Total of about a 6 of each, though I know the nature of the tool is that it won't last forever, I hope to get several more uses out of them, though I noticed on my bit for the .5" holes it was cutting slower than the first time I used it. Just hoping it's because I used it on .25" glass first and it was slower on the 3/8"s

I purchased this bit (along with others) for drilling tanks for my LocalFishClub. These things are great. They cut fast, and i have drilled over 20 tanks with mine and its still working great. (just let the bit do all the work, and you wont have any chipping!)

I purchased this to make a hole in my 29 gallon nano tank so I could install a 1/2" bulkhead as a return. This thing cut the glass perfect, no chipping or cracks. I will be buying another one soon for a different size.

I got this bit to convert a 40b into a RR frag tank. i was scared to drill a glass tank for the first time, but this bit made easy and light work of the glass. slow and steady i went and after 3 minutes, i had a perfect hole in the back of the tank for my 1.5in overflow.

Looks a little cheaply made but after using, the bit performed flawlessly. A tremendous value. I had VERY minimal chipping on the back side of the glass (3/8") Just take your time and put duct tape on the back side and you shouldnt have a problem.
I only had to drill one hole so I cant comment on how it performs hole to hole but the bit looks pretty much brand new after one hole. I would have no concerns about attempting another couple of holes with this bit. Very good value and performance.
