These glass drills work great. I hold a wet sponge against it while drilling to keep things cool. The only time I broke anything was when trying to drill tempered glass. Don't try to drill tempered glass!

I bought one 35mm & one 45mm. I made 2 cuts with the 35mm and 6 cuts with the 45mm. They made pretty clean holes and appear to have held up well - I can't tell that they've even been used.
I made my cuts with a drill press at a speedy 3100rpm and used a spray bottle with cold water to keep the glass cool and to wash away the debris as it accumulated. The glass I was drilling thru was 3/8" and 5/16" thick.
Worked like a charm. Very happy with my purchase.

Got the 30 mm for nano tank and the bit worked great, drilled very quickly on 10 gallon 1/8 glass tank. i didn't use a guide just started with bit on a angle and gently lifted it up to a vertical position using just the weight of the drill bit.
Diamond coated glass drill bit works great! By Doug on 1/30/2014

I had never drilled glass before, only acrylic. I actually experimented and drilled a glass sump tank using a carbide grit hole saw and it worked! I ran a slow RPM with lots of water and no downward pressure. Once I tried this diamond drill bit, I was in love. No more custom ordering drilled tanks and waiting forever to get them. It works great!

I used the 45mm bit for two 1" bulkheads. I laid the tank on it's side, put duck tape over where I wanted to drill to help the bit "catch" and ground away! I worked so well I decided to drill a 3rd hole after the tank was standing up again!

Used the 3/4, 1, and 1.5 drill bits and they were easy to use and did exactly what they were supposed to do!

Look around on the net and you'll soon find these are the most cost effective solution out there. They are only useful for a limited number of uses, but let's face it, once our tanks are drilled the bits usually collect dust.

I was extremely nervous about drilling my nano-cube. After watching a few videos and trying it out on a piece of thin glass, purchased at Home Depot for like $4, I drilled my first hole in about 4 minutes time. Now I have drilled 5 holes in aquariums with absolute success. The one bit of advice I can give is: DO NOT APPLY ANY EXTRA PRESSURE, let the weight of the drill do the work. And yes a drill guide does help to get a nice straight start. I found one at Dixieline here in the San Diego area.

I had never drilled glass and was very nervous about breaking my tank. After watching the video I knew I was ready. The bit worked like a charm. Drilled two holes, side by side, and everything went smoothly. Can't wait to drill some more.

Ordered and received the bits quickly! These bits start real easy if you hhold at a slight angle then slowly straighten up. they cut right through with no issues. I had three holes cut through my new tank in less than 5min with a plumbers putty water dam. Great bits and great service Highly recommend!

I haven't drille glass before and was very nervous, I started very slow on a practice piece of glass, it went well i then drilled my display 1/2 glass three times and now I had the hang of it. I drilled four more holes no problem and I let a friend use it, he drilled over 20 more holes and it still works. I am very impressed and bulk reef is the first place i check when I need anything.

1st time drilling glass and couldn't have worked smoother. Followed the BRS video and set the tank to drill horizontally and built a little dam to hold water around the bit. I went without a guide tilting the drill about 20 degrees to get it started and slowly squaring it up. Took less than a minute to go through a 1/4" wall.

This is the first tank I have drilled and I was very worried about it but these bits are very high quality and made it very easy. After I drill the first hole now I don't worry about it anymore. Thanks BRS also for the great video's to go along with it. The Drill press stand helps a lot also. Just be careful hard to tell how hard you are really pushing on it when you get the springs compressed down a ways.

I couldn't believe how easy it was to drill glass. I made (4) 48mm holes in my 40 gallon breeder. They were all at the same height on the back glass of the tank. I don't think I could have kept the bit steady without making a wood jig. It took me about 20 minutes of drilling per hole.

Little on the cheap side of bits, quality wise. Great buy for the money, and preformed as advertised drilled 8 holes before the bit started to show wear. BRS site was a little confusing in determining what size to buy for the 3/4" Schedule 80 Bulkhead Slip X Thread Dimensions, which state to use the 45mm, but the bit page stated to use the the 42mm. Glad I went with the 42 its a perfect fit. One key advice. take it slow and keep it wet and cool while drilling .
