I have other drill sizes but not the one I needed this time for just one hole. I looked all over for a source that would drill my tank for a reasonable price. I decided to buy the size bit I needed and do it myself. Works great and is easy to use.

Never drilled a tank before. The videos I saw made it look like a piece of cake. Ok not a piece of cake, mine didn't get through in 30 seconds, but they done and work perfectly! Get the drill bit orange guide too. You need/want it works great!
I practiced first. This allowed me to master this on recycled glass (Whiskey bottle) even without the aid of the guide that didn't fit the bottle. But I was able to drill the holes cleanly without too much head aches. Go slow use water works extremely well!

Drilled 2 holes thru 1/2" glass with no issues or wear on the bit. id buy another in a different size in a heart beat for another job. Works great and quality is insane for the price.

This was my first time drilling a tank. I bought the 45mm bit and the 1" ABS bulkhead. The two go perfectly together. The BRS video was a great help on how to do it.

Was hesitant about using this product, but found it was easy. It's a couple dollars cheaper on glass-holes.com, but the reliability of shipping is much better here. Would recommend product and purchasing here again.

I was a bit nervous about drilling this tank. I followed the instructions on the BRS video and used the diamond hole saws. It took about 90 seconds per hole to drill and turned out amazingly well. A very simple procedure.

Drilled 6 tanks with one bit so far with no signs of slowing down. ( 3/16 glass with the 30mm bit )The price had me skeptical about the quality but I have no doubts now. Just a couple minutes per hole with a good water flow using a cordless drill.
Nothin to be afraid of. By Franklin on 11/28/2014

I was initially worried that this product was going to disappoint me. After the first and second hole this was definitely not the case, 5 holes with 1 bit and all of which have smooth edges.
i was outside and had water handy but i didn't use it. I used extra virgin olive oil and it was mere minutes per hole.
If you're a nervous wreck how I was at first, just man up and have fun!

Drilled three holes in 3/8" glass using the 45mm saw. It took a good 1.5-2hours per hole. Holes were clean with minimal chipping but it took MUCH longer than any saw I've bought locally at HD or Lowes.
Not sure if it's just cheap quality or mine was defective but can't expect much for the cheap price these go for.

I used this to cut 4 holes in 3 40gal breeder tanks for my sump area. This drill bit was easy to use and left me with a clean finish around the edges of the holes I cut. I am very pleased with this product and would definitely recommend and purchase again.

I used this bit to drill my 220 gal. It made the job super easy and the price was a lot cheaper than having my local fish store drill it for me.

I bought the 60mm to drill multiple holes for 1 1/5" bulkheads. Works perfectly. Taking a chance, I even drilled with the tank in place. I used a Tom lifter pump and taped on end right above the drill bit. Worked perfectly on 4 holes that I needed.
Does The Job...Wears out Fast By Daniel on 10/16/2014

These bits are great on a budget, but don't expect more than 2 holes decently on one bit. These wear out reallllyyyy fast compared to higher quality diamond bits...but hey...its an economy model so I'm leaving it at 5 stars.
Be sure to use plenty of water if you plan to do 2 decent cuts on 1 bit.

I purchased the 35MM drill bit. I used it to drill out the two overflow lines and two returns on my 60 Gallon tank. It came out awesome. The last hole was a little rough but nothing the bulkhead cant handle. I highly recommend drilling your own tank, if you dont have a reef ready tank. It only took about 2-3 minutes per hole. It was super easy.
Great price for a few holes By Pegasus on 5/4/2014

I shopped around and found a great price for the 42mm here at BRS. I figured the quality would be good since this brand is the only kind they sell. 1/4" plywood template clamped to tank to start hole, gorilla tape under hole, and a garden hose with tapered nozzle to supply a steady stream of water. S-l-o-w drilled the 40B, and the first hole came out perfect. Took a break, and drilled the second hole. It took a little longer to cut, and had a few minor jaggies. Another break, and on to the third hole. This took considerably longer to cut, and the jaggies were pretty bad. The bit had worn down quite a bit, and no longer had the rough, gritty feel as when new. It actually felt smooth. I won't be using this bit on another tank. I think it's good for about three holes, and then needs replacing. For the price, I can afford to buy a new one for each tank.

Most Effective Product and Great Price Point. By DerechStorm on 4/23/2014

Did some searching locally and unless you have an aquarium in which you are not willing to cut yourself, then the coat savings is amazing. Local glass shop in MI wanted $35 a cut. Lowes and HomeDepot wanted $35-$55 just for the saw. Was simple to use. I do recommend making a template and using the gasket to hold the water in place between the template and glass for a much smoother cutting process. Also place one to two pieces of duct tape under the area to be cut. This will support and catch the glass that is cut.
