1st time drilling glass and couldn't have worked smoother. Followed the BRS video and set the tank to drill horizontally and built a little dam to hold water around the bit. I went without a guide tilting the drill about 20 degrees to get it started and slowly squaring it up. Took less than a minute to go through a 1/4" wall.

This is the first tank I have drilled and I was very worried about it but these bits are very high quality and made it very easy. After I drill the first hole now I don't worry about it anymore. Thanks BRS also for the great video's to go along with it. The Drill press stand helps a lot also. Just be careful hard to tell how hard you are really pushing on it when you get the springs compressed down a ways.

I couldn't believe how easy it was to drill glass. I made (4) 48mm holes in my 40 gallon breeder. They were all at the same height on the back glass of the tank. I don't think I could have kept the bit steady without making a wood jig. It took me about 20 minutes of drilling per hole.

Little on the cheap side of bits, quality wise. Great buy for the money, and preformed as advertised drilled 8 holes before the bit started to show wear. BRS site was a little confusing in determining what size to buy for the 3/4" Schedule 80 Bulkhead Slip X Thread Dimensions, which state to use the 45mm, but the bit page stated to use the the 42mm. Glad I went with the 42 its a perfect fit. One key advice. take it slow and keep it wet and cool while drilling .

Quality Bit, Chewing Through 0.25 Inch Glass By Greg J on 3/5/13
Greg J would recommend this product to a friend
I ordered two of the 45 mm bits with a total of 5 holes to drill, i figured "better safe than sorry", i'm happy to report that with a slow drill speed and constant water flow, these bits will last, even in thick glass. These may be a dollar or two more than other places, but it's so convenient to get the bulkheads and the hole saws in the same box with one shipping charge.
Will buy again.

The product was very economical and a high quality product. Perfect for DIY'rs. Alternative bits from other online suppliers are far more expensive for the same quality. I have seen the bits as high as 65.00 a bit at other places. So in short THREE thumbs up. Thank you BRS for carrying these at affordable prices.

I bought this drill bit in order to drill my tank for an overflow. I have since drilled two more tanks with this same bit and it continues to cut great! Do not be afraid to drill your tank, with the low cost and quality of these bits you cant go wrong!

Ordered a 35mm and a 45mm to drill overflows and returns in my tank. Made quick work of the 1/2" glass on my aquarium with very minimal chipping (almost unavoidable in thicker glass). Would recommend for anyone needing to drill a tank.

Bought the 1" bulkhead. BRS support said I needed the 45mm drill bit. They were right. Was a breeze to drill my 75g, especially since a local glass shop was going to charge me $20/hole. Well worth the money and time.

I ordered a 45mm bit to drill 5 holes in the back of my 120 gallon for the 1" ABS Bulkheads. The glass was 1/2 inch thick. I was worried this bit would burn up or wear out before I was able to finish all the holes. However, I completed all 5 holes in about 2 hours (First time grinding glass and I was very cautious, maybe to cautious) and kept a steady stream of cold water on the bit. It worked like a charm and the bit is still in brand new condition ready to make more cuts!!! Definitely give this bit a try. Great Value!!!

I drill two holes for 3/4" bulk head when making a custom sump. I was skeptical about it beacuse of the price, but they worked out great and didnt even break the thin glass of 10g aquarium. Then used it on making a 60g cube reef ready. Great item and a great price

Drill bits worked as advertised, cut through 1/4" glass easily. Used a cheap cordless drill with clutch. Didn't need drill guide just held bit at angle to establish a groove.

I was a little nervous at first, with this being my first time drilling glass although it turned out to be a breeze. I purchased the 65mm bit for sch80 1 1/2" bulkheads and drilled 3 holes no problem. It seems like it would be hard to "mess up" unless you are carless. Easy and slow is the way to go.

I have began to convert all of my old non-drilled glass tanks with these drill bits and they work phenomenally. I have drilled 11 holes and the bit is still as good as new. The last three were half inch glass and this drill cut through them in no time, maybe 3 minutes each. Fantastic tool and a must have if you want to utilize a sump system. Forget buying an external overflow siphon, for a fraction of the price you can create a fail-safe drilled tank that looks awesome!
