I bought this bulkhead as a replacement for the stock barbed bulkhead that came with my overflow kit, and it's a definite upgrade. It's very solid, and my schedule 26 and 40 tubing fits into it well.

It's a bulkhead. It has one job in life--keep the water in the tank while letting the pipe out. It does this job well. It's only a little more heavy-duty than the ones that come with new tanks (I think there are even bulkier bulkheads out there), but this is good enough for my purposes.

I used a 1/2" bulkhead for my water storage barrels in my garage. Installation was simple using a 29mm hole saw (I couldn't find a 27mm). It only took 20 minutes and most of that was waiting for my pump to move the water to a holding tank. After a week, I still don't see any leaks or drips from the bulkhead or around the PVC cemented into the slip side of the bulkhead.

These are definately heavier duty than standard ones and gave me a more secure feeling when tightening into place
