This RODI system is great! I had a broken nipple between chambers 2 and 3 when I first installed it but BRS sent me a new one with no questions asked. Things like that happen sometimes. Tech support has been amazing. My TDS was only 1ppm to begin with but it's definitely 0ppm going out. I mounted this in my laundry room. I put a Y connector on the cold water line splitting off of the washing machine connection. I also put the waste water line down the waste water tube for the washing machine. I mounted it about chest level on the wall to the right of my washer. I have a 40 gallon square rubbermaid container that the water flows into. I mounted a surge strip on the wall which plugs into a GFCI protected outlet. I put a powerhead, aerator, and heater on this power strip. I turn on the water on Wednesday's after work, turn on the power strip before I go to bed and turn off the water Thursday after work. I then pump this water into another container using a powerhead (I added an in-line switch) to make saltwater. I mix my salt with my RODI water, check my salinity, put in a powerhead/aerator/heater and let it sit overnight. Then on Friday (the next day) I do my water change after work. I'm about to start pumping the water to the tank from the same room as I make it in. That should make life easier. Right now I roll a 28gal rubbermaid container to the tank and pump it in that way. I also siphon the old water outside using a python siphon hose. I just ordered another python and a 1000GPH pond pump to pump the water from the laundry room to the reef tank.

This is a great system for the price since you get everything you need to make RO/DI. Setup is practically plug and play unless you need to buy an adapter from your local hardware store to make it fit your sink. Soon I'll be upgrading to the 150gpd water saver kit to reduce my waste water.

Like a lot of folks I researched the different brands and BRS seemed to be the most consistently higher rated. The price for features on this one was good so I had it shipped up here to Canada. Arrived with a broken plastic connector between the first 2 canisters (sounds like a common shipping problem after reading other reviews). BRS sent me a pair of replacement connecters right away with no hassle. After starting it up I found I had to tighten most of the water lines and one of the canisters as they leaked under pressure, but that's a minor thing, and I should have done it in the first place. Has been running great since then, very simple to setup and run. All the water testing I have done shows perfect and all my shrimp breeding tanks are doing much much better using this RO/DI water.
Great Value By Steve on 1/26/14

BRS did a great job on this RO/DI system. I looked at a handful of other competitors (the filter guys, ispring, and buckeye) and it seemed this system was the best overall value and the easiest to setup.
I gave this 4 stars because the hookups packaged in the system were only for temporary installations. It took some work on my side and a trip to the local hardware store to figure out how address a permanent, under-sink installation. Other than that minor inconvenience, this is a flawless system at a great price! Thanks BRS!
Worth it By Chris on 1/20/14

I talked myself into this system over the base model. I figured I'd eventually add the tds and pressure gauge anyways. When it arrived, the plastic fitting between the first 2 filters was broken, probably due to the shipping. Instead of going thru the return process, I just picked up a heavy duty fitting at the local store for $2 and fixed it myself. I'm using this to provide water for my 155g bow front. This is my first time using rodi so I hope the benefits are worth the money and the time. Quality of the product and ease of use is great. I recommend this system.
Pretty Decent Machine with user friendly flaws By Jamie on 1/15/14

Seems like a decent machine. Easy to hook-up. Mine came in DOA and sprayed water everywhere. Seems like they would have a system in place test the plumbing somehow before sending to customer. They were great about sending me out a a elbow to fix the problem, but you would think the tech person would have know to ask me to unscrew the elbow and see if there was a missing o ring or if it was sitting in there properly. I did not know anything about the machine and how it worked, but if he would have simply told me to do that I could have fixed the problem immediately instead of having to wait for the part to come in. There was a o-ring in there and not installed properly, would have been an easy fix. Another downfall is that I thought I was going to get about 1200 gallons before replacing anything, come to find out that does not include the DI resin. I only made 75 gallons and mine expired, I was disappointed that I had to stop making water and order DI resin to finish the job. Another flaw is there need to be open & close in-line valves on all 3 lines. People like me have to unhook & store until next use. I tried getting the water out of the lines and was displeased that there was no easy way to roll up the lines and shut the line off to keep left over water from dripping out...I had water all over the place trying to situate the lines and it still leaked all over the floor where I was storing it. I would say if these issues were resolved I would give it a 5.
Best RO/DI unit for the value By Vince on 1/14/14

I was shocked when I saw this unit go on sale for black Friday for $129.99 I jumped on it and never looked back. I want to give a super detailed review on this to give anyone who may be considering it perfect proof this is the unit to get.
First off when it arrived it was packaged in a heavy box with tons of packing peanuts and the whole unit was super well wrapped in heavy bubble wrap. opening it was the coolest thing. Everything was installed on it already. Nothing was overlooked including the fittings to fit onto a standard sink faucet.
Component wise it has each stage marked with the correct filter / media to put in each spot making it super easy not to mess it up for beginners. It comes with a lot of tubing, you could easily run the unit 15 feet from where you have it connected. The push connect fittings are very well made and looks great no leaks. Now for the cool parts for me were the dual inline TDS meter, the RO membrane backflush kit and the air filled pressure gauge. These are more important that most people would think. The membrane flush kit makes it SUPER easy on the fly to backflush the RO membrane which is important to keeping it clean and running it's full 75GPD. Next is the gauge, this is important in monitoring the pressure to make sure your making as little waste water as possible and keeping this filter running at optimal pressure.. (NOTE running this on the second story of your house will result in lower pressure reading. ) Now the dual TDS meter is amazing. I mean what is the sense of an RO/DI if it's not giving you 0 TDS water. It tests the water coming out of the RO membrane and also the water coming out of the DI resin, Makes it easy to know what needs to be replaced when the time comes. Last but not least the DI resin, it's color changing super easy to know when to change. With ~12TDS coming out at my RO the DI resin takes it down to 0 TDS and I have made ~ 70Gallons of water and the DI is maybe 1/3 depleted . If you need a unit to perform better I would suggest adding an extra sediment filter of smaller diameter to the mix to read a lower TDS out of the RO so less depletion of the resin, The resin is also super affordable.
I love this product!
